I always understood MY to be model year as well.

I always assumed it meant mid year....

MY is Model Year, eg, a 2008/58 QP 4.7 S is an 09MY, a 2004/54 4200 Facelift is a 2005MY and so on and so forth. Makes quite a big difference on some cars as Maserati make significant upgrades on some model years. Also, as Felonius Crud mentions, it is different from when the car is was reg’d which can cloud things. I’ve seen 07MY QP’s reg’d in 2009.
