The car on Ebay should have the front bumper like the car in the 1st pic, this version of the car was known as the Spyder E (E for Export) although I have seen one other UK car with the deep rear bumper but the early type front bumper so may have been a case of what was lying around when the cars were built. You are kind of correct Andy, there was an SE version of the Biturbo but for the UK this was mainly confined to the 222 (18v) and 430 (18v) which featured the deeper bumpers which became standard on the later 24v versions.
The Spyder then received a facelift in around 1991 (for Italian market) with the UK receiving this version in around 1992, this was known as the Spyder III, and featured the later Racing type headlamps, Racing type wheels and the spoiler at the base of the windscreen as per the car in the second photo. I think Marcello Gandini was involved in the styling. The III retained the 18v 2.8 for the UK and other European markets (the 2.8 24v was never fitted to the Spyder), Italy got the 2 litre 24v engine for this version.
