Took my XE for its first service today and look at the loan car.....

F Type 400 sport - V6 400 BHP and only 20 miles on the clock and it is bloody wonderful. Better than I though it would be and the noise is pretty good to. It begs to be driven just to hear it.......but at 68k for this limited edition model cant see a new one on my drive anytime soon. Bet I would have got the same sort of loan car from BMW/Merc/Audi......Another tick for Jaguar from me...

it's a tried and tested sales technique, no matter how nice your XE was when you drove it in, it'll be **** when you drive it out

Personally, and I may be in a minority here, I don't like the way the F Type looks.

It's as if it's trying too hard to be aggressive.

Nice car. I had a good look at them and a couple of test drives when I bought my Strad. In the end, the emotional connection wasn't as strong and the history of Jaguar depreciation in recent years is epic. And I don't want to be part of that epic !

Really liked them though except for the silly exhaust which is just a little cartoon for me. I'd have it painted black or change the back box for something less silly. I love a loud exhaust (obviously) but not one that looks like dustbin lids.

Had a go on the R too with it's better exhaust set-up. I didn't think it worth the extra ££s over the S.

Recently spotted a red, S coupe with 25k miles on it for £34k. That looked to be something of a bargain.

I get what you say, Mark. Looks a bit like a scaled up Z4, a teenage boy wearing an aftershave called 'Rampage' ;)

I like it nonetheless, and am quite jealous, Andy!

Always a pleasant suprise to get a good loan car- have to say I have never been lucky enough to get one better than the one I drove in.
Often they haven't even had one available...that was when I decided never to go German again.
Fingers crossed for you Andy the XE needs a bit more work and you keep that one for longer...

Mine was picked up yesterday. I lasted a good 10-15 minutes before a started looking at Strads and other exotics.
I wish I had recorded my wife's face....

Personally I think Mark is talking **** :D It is a wonderful looking car!

It really is Phil..Great to look at, sit in and drive..V8 would be the one but this is no slow coach and did I mention the noise..Not GTS standard but still great to listen to in the cabin.......Very addictive

A mate of mine took BMW up on a "test drive for the weekend" deal and he took it from South Coast to the Highlands on the NC500 (Friday to Monday morning). It was a delivery mile car when he collected it and he returned it with 2400 miles on it! :D the sales guy was very impressed (probably gutted to be fair!) when he was handed the car back.
