Can someone who knows the form give the newbies a bit of a briefing?
(Or did I miss that post?)
Questions in my mind include:
- what about helmets? I see they rent them for £20 - are they ok?
- any other costume recommendations? - I see: "sensible shoes; Arms and Legs MUST covered"
- is fuel available on site?
- and food?
- what are the likely start and end times for us (same as on website? - 8.30 – Gates open, 9.10 – Signing on, 10–5 – Track activities)
- do people usually get extra insurance (my policy, ridiculously, defines what a track day is, but then says nothing about whether it is covered or not)
- what's the form if you break your car?
- what's the form if you break someone else's car?
- will I get **** from people if I cruise round in my QP in full auto (yeah, I might press 'sport', tho)
- what's it like?
- will it be raining?

Hi Mark, I'll post the full regs tomorrow but the main bits are.....

Helmet must be worn...can be open or full....You can hire for £20 on the day. Think they take £70 off you as a retainer.
Must have arms covered at all times when on track
You must bring your driving licence with you on the day
Fill track etiquette will be briefed on the day at the beefing.
Gates open usually at 0830 then we have the brief at 0930 usually then it's straight out on track. You have to have the briefing as if you don't you cannot go on track.
There's an hour lunch break and then track closes at .. I think1630 but you can go when ever you have had enough.

Insurance is up to you....some will take extra. Cover some will not....Its a safe day and I have only had one car have a bad accident in 10 years. You tend to drive to your ability. Everyone is curtious and at the beginning you will be split into groups depending on track experience.

There is an instructor who can go out with you and myself and a few others can also give you tips on the day.

Hope that helps for now.

Andy, do you know if helmets need a type approval? Or is that only for race series or competition?

I did when my mate was driving my car haha.

Spa is a power track and some of the Nissan GTRs were on another level but hit 135+ on the straight. Not bad for a plastic brick!

Could someone bring an OBD reader, as I have 2 and neither seem to work!!
I'd like to know why my ECL intermittently comes on?

If it is a 3200 then it probably won't work (if 2 don't) as it will be an OBD connector but use the older protocol. You will need a laptop running Unidiag to get the codes.
