I am in the market.
I wouldn’t buy a LHD import. At any price. Just my opinion.

What makes you a fairly non-typical Fezza driver, Iain, is that you use yours if not daily then certainly often enough that having a LHD car would be a right bloody pain in the ar5e. Imagine getting n and out of hospital car parks where you need to lean across and take a ticket form the machine. That alone would pur me off.

Hadn’t even thought of that!
It was overtaking that I was thinking about :)
I can’t understand owning a car like that if you don’t use it.
As you say- i would use it as much as I wanted but also have another nice car as a back up if I fancied
Something more comfortable.
Luckily it’s free parking in wales so no ticket machines or worrying about when work finishes.
How would insurance pan out on a LHD or residual values on finance etc?

I used my old E30 M3 and my Integrale daily and both LHD and you soon get used to it....but then there was no choice with the two of them so if you wanted one you put up with it. Just took a friend Everytime I needed to go through the the Severn Bridge tolls

Had the LHD issue? with my Trans Am many years ago, surprisingly easy to get used to as it happens, you can more often than not see what's ahead by looking up the inside, ticket machines, I just used to take the Mrs lol....

Beat me to it Andy! ^^^^^^^^^^^^

Not sure what the hang up is with LHD in the UK. Both my SZ and Q4 are LHD and once you get use to planning ahead it is no real issue even when overtaking and it would be even less so in a Ferrari as you have the power to hang well back for clear vision and still pass safely. Car parks on the other hand are a complete pain in the **** but once again you adapt, i know of one SZ owner who carries one of those extending arm things to reach the ticket machine.

If the prices are keen LHD should not be that much of a limiting factor.

Never thought of carrying an extending arm. Ingenious if you could get it to work. Fairly comical if not!
You have convinced me. I will have one of those 458s for 90 cash please

I have had several LHD cars and some are better driving cars for it.
My first Mk 1 Golf Gti better brakes for starters as no cross over linkages.

Thank you all very much for the replies.

From what I can gather, and from the sportsmaserati population sample, we have a lot of varied opinions on LHD imports. I think the best thing to do would be to try it with a car that I wouldn't mind getting stuck with if it doesn't work out. I still think that there is always a market as long as its priced accordingly, so will be spending the next few weeks finding a suitable car and will keep you all updated.

Happy new year to you all!

I take it you don't work at CVUHB then? As their car park prices are horrific.
That's if you can get a space!

They're a client of mine and I often spend ages trying to get a space and that time searching has probably cost me a couple of quid before I've even parked
