Mine does it Id say on average once a tank (or 450 miles). There is no light or message to say its doing it. You can tell from a slightly gruffer note and the fuel economy goes through the floor.
Annoyingly the Subaru had a flashing light when regeneration was taking place ,which turned solid when it failed along with limp mode.

On regenerations, generally any diesel I’ve had has regenerated once, maybe twice per tank of fuel, some cars though are hard to spot when it’s doing it though, so you might not realise and switch off.

Blimey I had one Jaaaaag that I never noticed it doing it, and one that did it once to notice in my 8 months ish of ownerhsip.

Maybe I just didn't realise

You had a diesel Scooby? They gave me one once when my Legacy was in for service, went to overtake a Punto on the way home and nothing happened, had to give up and pull back in behind!!

I have no idea what this is meant to achieve. Who is the 'specialist' (Disturbed by your quotes) Has the 'specialist' scanned it? Have they diagnosed it? How do they know they can fix it and why you need to drive slowly?

This screams to me.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I live in Northern Ireland so specialist technical help is thin on the ground and the main dealer is £192 per hour. I eventually got two sensors replaced, (much difficulty because of our Brexit situation), and the management light has stayed off. Luckily ALA warranty covered the costs, £1000). It was recommended that I use Ultra diesel and this seems to have cured the particulate problem. I keep a spreadsheet of all fuel bought and the costs per mile are not significantly different and I don’t have to do the 10 mile regen journey
