Isolating Skyhook

Surely it would make quite a difference as Skyhook is adjusting at X times a second? I'd have thought that disabling Skyhook would make the ride pretty awful, especially over mixed surfaces.

Presumably it's easy enough to force the exhaust valves to stay open, though the shift would be normal.. As a manual owner, I have no clue how different sport vs. normal shifts are of course as all of mine are only as good as my left hand shifts ;)
Also, as a manual owner, I find the difference between sport and not sport with Skyhook is night and day. Normal feels much less composed, especially in the twisties. if I could default mine to Sport, I would never use it without :)

Its the engine blip on down shifts, sharper gear changes and exhaust note I want but without the crashy ride.

So unpluging the exhaust vacuum piles just gjves a little more noise.

I find sport mode really useful. I don't drive in it all the time. In fact the manual describes the optimum conditions to engage it for the Gransport. It does feel tighter and stiffer in sport mode as well as faster shifts on the paddles and the blips on downshifts.

I've done 50,000 km in mine using sport mode. Only exception is on freeway runs when in cruise.
Still even with our smooth roads I find the ride a little too firm, so I'm investigating be the FD Summer sale announced today. $200US off the Veloce Corsa 18" lightweight alloys. Put some Michelin super sport tyres on that apparently have a softer wall, should sort things out. That and I have a crack in a front rim that leaks 6psi overnight.

You said you were thinking of changing cars Peter, in which case it would be better to keep the GS as standard. Or would you keep it if you could address the ride issues?

Depends on the house move.

Would like to keep it, but as I said, the ride is too harsh in S Mode due to our austerity roads these days...but then on a smooth French road it is a joy at the stiffer settings.

This is what the Formula Dynamics DBW box does isn't it? Not sure about the exhaust though.

Personally I'm planning on replacing all my suspension setup with KW3 coilovers due to the ride, so interested in what can be done to 'disable' skyhook.

I have just been looking at KW coilers as alternate to replacing EOM dampers at £1000 each. The PDF is now in both german and english, showing one connector for front and another for rear. Maybe they now have a unit with can fake the signals ECU expects from dampers.
From experience test driving all QP V models at launch, the Sport GTS had by far the best ride / handling. It was the only non-skyhook car and rides on rising rate / dual rate coilovers.

Bumping this thread - I've taken the plunge and ordered KW V3 Coilovers after having enough of the terrible ride on country roads around Le Mans.

I'll try as per Kyle's suggestion above, just unplugging the module. Can anyone point me to where that is?
