what do you think of the overall fit and finish? Does it lift the interior and does it look stock? Can you send more pictures of the different menus?

If your device has a usb port you could install a dab radio antenna then instal the DABZ app.

it definitely looks like stock! I will make better pictures when I sort out my Bluetooth issue!

Update!

Wiring the thing was a piece of cake, but Android Auto is a nightmare for me, a layman with dangerous half-knowledge.
In general, things work as they should:

radio
Bluetooth
maps
phone

what doesn't work is the integration of z-link, which should bring more functionality to the device (Whatsapp Messages, Signal...).

It was particularly strange that the device always played two music files stored on the radio when it was switched on. I've tried turning this off in the settings - no success. only when I deleted the two files was the radio played directly from the start.

What really annoys me is the fact that there doesn't seem to be a car launcher where you can adjust the volume directly on the start screen. You always have to open a popup screen...

I´ll keep on fighting and researching - any hints are highly welcome!

From my limited knowledge you can download many different launcher programs to your taste. You might want to check out the thread(s) on the other place where there are some recommendations for specific launchers

car launcher pro (costs £5) is well worth it - you can add onscreen volume buttons (android calls them widgets).

from the google play store you can add apps, or download them from APKmirror. Most apps also have widgets which can be added to the homescreen

not sure why you would want messenger apps on the car screen.

VIVID Launcher is worth a try.

If possible, any chance you could take a photo of the wires going into your canbus decoder? Interested which pins are in use.

I found out that many users have issues with wireless Android Auto - there is a workaround that costs around 80 EUR but not sure if I will need this...

Downloaded carlauncher pro but I am not able to delete the factory launcher - so it works like this:

the canbus decoder works - you see a popup screen if you change the fan speed...
hazards still not working.

Unfortunately, I've already put it back together again, but I can remember exactly that a stocker that was plugged directly into the NIT is plugged into the Can-Bus decoder and another plug (large but only uses two pins) is plugged into the bus cable, which is attached to the NIT with a clip and runs away to the rear.

Got the camera set today. Looks smart because it's integrated into the plate light

What's the best way from the trunk into the passenger compartment?

@Helipedia any updates on your overall experience so far?

Mine is all disassembled right now and was disappointed to see the back of the factory unit is all cracked and has screws missing. Clearly has been abused in the past, maybe when the sticky buttons were sorted.

Considering my options whilst I've got everything disconnected.

Did you get your hazards working?

If its anything like the one I bought for my range rover from alibaba it'll work for about three months then the supplier will go radio silent, unless you bought it in the UK

Alibaba is a mine field, got to be so careful.
The screen on my factory unit is also damaged, so am sorely tempted to do something, but I'm not in a position to drop £1500 to pay someone to install one.

It’s £1000 I believe.
Best upgrade ever

I've already said that about my paddles, aluminium pedals, cruise, hydrodipped trim etc :p

But the factory unit does need replacing.

At some point I need to start saving a panic fund
