Help, 3200 oil filter replacement

Hi All,

I am in the middle of changing the oil in my 3200 for the first time and I have run into a problem.
After draining the sump and unscrewing the oil filter, I cannot see how to get the filter out of the space in front of the engine. My 3200 is a late series with all the "secondary air system" and all the plumbing is getting in the way. Does someone know where there is a gap that I can manoeuvre the oil filter through to get it out?

Thanks

Ross

Ross I take it you are working from underneath yes?

Can't say I have had a issue with that one, has the wrong filter (taller) been fitted?

Hi Matt,

The is no room from top or bottom, from the bottom the tubular cross-member is in the way and from the top the pipes of the secondary air system are in the way. The filter is genuine.
However I have solved the problem by releasing several hose clamps to allow me to move the pipe labelled 29 in the drawing out of the way.secondary air system.jpg
The filter then has space to come out from above on the right hand (when standing in front) side.

Cheers

Ross

Just for info really but for the earlier 3200's without the air gubbins you can remove the filter by releasing the main right hand inlet pipe at the throttle body - this gives enough room without undoing any other pipes.
