Headlamp adjustment for Europe

Strangely, I couldn’t find a thread on this (I’m not very techie anyway)..

We decided that the Grancabrio should finally be used this summer and will head to friends in Germany and Italy for a few weeks. What is the easiest and best solution to changing the headlight position for the continent? I don’t want to do my old trick from 30 years ago of putting black tape in random places on the glass lens!!

Cheers

I've never ever bothered. The 4200 had xenon and were quite flat, the GT is too. Being summer you won't be driving in the dark much, even the middle of the night trips around Le Mans didn't annoy Les Locals or rozzers.

I dug into this quite deeply when I first got my Gran Cabrio, and eventually came to the conclusion that there's nothing you can do. I think I may even have reached the conclusion that because of the beam pattern it's not actually necessary (but that may just be wishful thinking). We have done 6 or 7 trips in Europe, including Germany, Austria, Italy, France and Spain and have had zero issues with the headlights.

You will find you probably do very little night driving, and if in towns at night its mostly on dipped anyway
