Gtechniq Crystal Serum

Having only used Gtechniq C2 myself but being a fan of modern easy / quick to apply products as opposed to waxes (which are great but time consuming and I'm all for new technology).

Reading great things about Crystal Serum http://www.gtechniq.com/products/auto/perfect/exterior/paint/crystal-serum Can only be applied by an approved Gtechniq detailer and not cheap but i'm seriously thinking of going the whole hog at the start of next year, maybe around March, get the 2 stage machine polish then crystal serum + Exo treatment as I intend on keeping the car a good few years. Will get the front end tidied up after my grill crack (http://www.sportsmaserati.co.uk/showthread.php/19270-Cracked-front-grill) and then possibly go for the serum.

Anyone any first or second hand experience of this stuff?

Enzo MC, who is a detailer, uses these products. We both have Nero GS's and upon driving down to the middle of France in 2014, his car arrives totally clean, mine had muck sprayed all up the sides. Its very good stuff and I have the Crystal at home that I am going to apply at some point.

Very good to hear. This stuff only came out last year didn't it?

I've priced up a 2 stage machine polish and treatment with approved place and it ain't cheap but it's the one treatment that flicks my switch. Thinking get it done now early on in my ownership

Last week I had the GTS professionally detailed and given the Gtechnique treatment but am not sure which was the final coating applied. Whatever it was, the car looks great and has stayed clean. I'll check the invoice and come back later.

I've had my Ghibli protected inside and out with c-quartz and Mrs MAF's BMW with g-techniq. Both come up gleaming after washing - well worth doing IMO.

the CS and Exo is fantastic combo, recommended. you will be looking at £650 from accredited detail but should be able to get it cheaper.

as Matt said going to italy/france my car was almost still clean, but the best bit for me is washing is easier and drying with water :) benifit is the less you touch the car with cloths less chance of creating marks/swirls

mine has been on since pre release of CS and still going strong.

now for bad points, All MINOR - you will need to use the gtechniq shampoo, you could use others but be careful as these could break down the coating of Exo and possible CS over time. further on this you also best not to have dealers or garages wash your car as the shampoo they normally use are more aggressive.

or just drop off around mine and I sort it out :)

Had Neil at RideRevive put the C-Quartz on the Spyder and QP. Very impressed - another vote for that from me.

Enzo great feedback thanks. On the Gtechniq website for 2 stage polish, wheels done and CS + Exo was £850. My nearest place was I think the headquarters of Gtechniq in Yorkshire or something like that.

I take it you're based down south ?

yep down south

have you tried applying C1 ? CS is similar in way it applies just harder to remove if spot missed. maybe you have a detailer like me up your way who isn't accredited but will have access to CS and will be cheaper. justcheck to see if they have applied nano products before.

I've got C2 and used it twice in the summer and was impressed but I think I want to get some serious work done, deep machine polish then best product I can put on it and based on what I've read and your feedback I like the idea of the durability and other benefits it gives.

Definitely think I'll go for this, will leave it for a few months as she won't move much over winter but CS is appealing

If you find someone local to us Ryan - give me a shout as I want the same - Perhaps we could negotiate a deal !!!

I've just checked the specification of the detailing work just completed on my GTS. It had the Gtechniq C1 and EXO, plus the Gtechniq Clear Vision smart glass. The work was completed at Emblem by Jake of First Choice Detailing, Bournemouth, and an excellent job he did too over the two days. Including all the prep work such as washing, claybar, machine polishing/rejuvenation and so on, the list price was £650 but Jake did me a deal.

I've not had a "coating treatment" as opposed to a "wax" before, so it'll be interesting to see the difference over the longer term.

Dave definitely. On the Gtechniq website it says this is ournearest place http://reepgroup.co.uk looks like some sort of HQ for a group of companies. If there are others they must get hold of CS through the back door ?

Anyone know that place ?

no detailer will be able to advertise this, but if you find a detailer and you like their work plus they have applied nano products before - give them a call and see if they have applied CS before and if they can get hold of CS

I'm not accredited but have direct contact with Rob at Gtechniq who is a great guy and I can get CS if needed

also PM sent

Just read the CS review in Evo. Should have had Jake use that instead of C1. There's always next time.

Ryan / Dave not sure if you still looking into this but GTechniq have a CS lite which is cheaper and more easier to apply, I'm not sure on durability against CS - I am doing some tests, will be interesting

on the other hand nano products have exploded and we have a lot more options on the market so if you see another product you like the sound of let me know and more than happy to run some test if I haven't already
