GS door lock and window

Hi All,

I had previously messaged about windows not returning when closing doors etc. anyway, the car has been in for a FULL respray and my word does it look fantastic new badges, grills the lot! Unfortunately for me however when i went to pick it up, the window issue seems to have evolved to something worse.....

The car wont lock. Not by remote or manually. It makes the lock noise when i press the button or turn the key but then instantly makes the noise again and unlocks. The drivers window will not go up that last centimetre either. Im guessing it refuses to lock as it thinks the door is open and hence why the window wont return that tiny bit? Even when sat in the car if i press the window button to put it to the top, it will go up to the top then drop slightly (just like when door is open). Dashboard lights do not show the door open though?

What could be the cause? Microswitch in the driver door lock? This cannot be moisture driven as the car has been in the oven!

Any help would be greatly appreciated as i want to get her back on the road!

Either the switch or failing door locks.

Can you lock it with the key in either door?

That sounds like a switch then. I *think* the one that tells it the door is closed is built into the lock, but there's one in each of the door handles as well.

Assuming you're DIY ish, have the door card off and start checking the switches are all in right state when the door is shut. That should narrow it down. Failing that, new lock unit, about £30.
The switches are a lot more, but you should be able to source a replacement.

Wasnt the door lock! So i have a brand new spare. Have an electrician looking over switches and wiring tomorrow hopefully. I really hope this will solve the window issue as well. Any other advice??

Wasnt mictoswitches either. Its the green conttol box unit in passenger footwell. This will be my 3rd one. Its gone to giallos to be stripped and look for water ingress. They will also de-restrict the drain pipe. At least problem solved!
