Hi all, since then end of this summer my GT has developed a new dash rattle that’s incredibly annoying. I think it may be linked to a road trip during the heatwave in France but seems to be coming from the defroster panel just near the widsceeen on the left hand side. A push in that area seems to stop the rattle for a few miles before it comes back.

I found this part on eBay just to illustrate what I’m talking about.

I want to remove the vent and make sure all the clips and fixings are intact but don’t want to break anything trying to get it out. Any ideas how to remove it the right way?IMG_3399.jpeg

Mine does that from time to time, been meeting to fix it ………..

Probably as a result of the windscreen being replaced at some point in the past.

I’m pretty sure the screens original unless previous owner was unlucky. It hasn’t had paint and the screen had very few stone chips (but enough to reflect the 6k miles I bought it with). It’s now on 16k miles.

Same with mine, no idea if the screen has been replaced but if they had that could explain the trim having been removed and not refitted correctly.

Either way, in intend to remove mine and refit, hoping no clips or tabs are broken.

I must be unlucky. Mine was a Pilkington when I purchased and I have put in 2 screens so far!

For info the MD replaced this vent under warranty. Two clips had broken causing the rattle and to my surprise the factory approved the replacement so I’m rattle free again. They also removed the entire engine to repair an oil leak so I only got the car back yesterday after a 3 week spell at Marenallo’s service centre! I asked them to do an end or warranty check that has saved me £££££££
