Plain answer to this one is Yes spot on Dem , otherwise you will always hanker , like the rest of us in the ealier days, as with a Ford , the ghia was the car to go for same dilemma but its what suits your pocket now the Turismo GT is a bloody good car and certainly no mean feet as entry level to Maserati many would and will envy you , but if you can stretch to the GTS then all your dreams will have come true in one foul swoop, Not a bad thing but after a year or two of GT ownership you will be looking to upgrade and sorry to say you will be smitten but enjoy it everyone else on here does regardless Massers do that to you just the widest grin ever

Exactly, curious that it does not seem to be supporting the Coupe prices. Can only assume that the Coupe is not seen as a cheaper substitute.

The way Maserati have gone there is no way you could call the GT a direct replacement for the GS due to the size of the thing. If you take a company like Porsche with the 911 when they brought out the 996 as a replacement for the 993, you had a more modern interior and a more compliant ride, which utterly ruined the car and made it fall down into a league of expensive boring coupes rather than a taut handling sportscar which the 993 was.

Saying all that Maserati have been clever and not gone down the 911 route of tweaking a model, however good it is and come out with a fantastic looking, but different style to the coupe/GS.

Would I have one? Yes but not the standard GT for the same reasons that I would not buy a standard coupe. Just means I will have to save up harder!

You are right William.

Porsche understands its market whereas Maserati has produced a fat, US biased car where looks and size are taking over from performance and driving. The later MY 4200 and GS proved that you can have both but I'm not sure if the GT can ever deliver that.

Even found myself looking at a 997C2S recently trying to work out if the kids would go in the back as - much as I would like a GT - I would not have designed it as 1880kg and 4.9m long if I was the guy with the pencils.

Other than the word 'Wembley', I'm not sure what any of that means. I'm just hoping that Maserati is not a footballers brand.
