Yep, I am thinking about it again, have put a request into David Askew for the parts, watch this space, but if its gona cost a £1000's, I will not do it.

This is about a budget conversion using used 3200 and not repro parts.

The boot is a straight swap, so thats no issue, I can get the lights, its all about how to modify the GS to take the lights, and what is the minimum paint I can get away with.

...I am off to see if I can get someone to drive up my ****!

Ciao

Ok, a little update, I can buy the bommers and the light that goes in the boot lid (upper inner part of the boomers) for £1k a boot lid will cost me £100, paint £900, and I have a mate who is an auto electrician.

What else do I need, if its £2k, ill do it.

I want to see if its possible to just paint the tailgate and just the rear facing part of the rear wings. I know the arc of the boomers are the same as the current light. I can also get £250 for my old light.

....its pissing down outside, c'mon ladies, tailgate me!!!

Just a few pointers Matt , its the rear light boxes that make the job relatively easy , they are interchangeable with the 4200 ones , once you have those (they include the rear quarter segment ) you have cracked it if you can get some doner ones of those its all straight forward from there , any good auto sparks should be able to marry them in , Record Kudos if you go for it ,

Personally i would want to remove the rear light boxes myself , ( new they are stupid money) the better condition they come out in the easier the refitting job , a good cordless with 3 batteries a dozen 3mm pilot drills and dozen 6 mm drills will see the spot welds parted and the box extracted , or if the owner of the doner vehicle will let you loose with an angle grinder just cut the whole lot out allowing 2 or 3" all the way around

Take it that £900 includes fitting and painting

Re your old rear lights sorry mate but there only £90 ish each new stark difference to the 3200 ones eh but then they are honda ones

regards loz

Not sure about this.....I've seen the pics of the blue car on the internet and it looks great but my only concern is resale......most buyers want original......it will look great though.

Don't get me wrong there will always be a buyer for the conversation I just think you will limit tyour market once you start changing and removing panels etc.
