There's a blue Ghibli My'92 in Holland that had a quattroporte V8 under the bonnet. Job carried out by Garage van der Wereld. Pretty quick car i assure you.... :lol2:

Great in a straight line but a bad move for the twisty bits. Way to heavy, the engine is already in front of the wheels as it is and the ghibli is prone to working the front tyres very hard indeed and producing mid corner understeer when used on track.

I'm always slightly jealous of the quattroporte and shamal engine, give me a cable throttle anyday over this **** system in the 3200!

Bit harsh. I've had cables snap, not too much a hassle, and also cables jam, twice, major hassle! My fly by wire works fine, it seems to be when they are worn, previous bodges, and fixes by persons who don't really know quite what they are doing that gives them a bad name. Just remember to use WOT from time to time and it will be fine :)

Your car flies? :) No shortage of WOT here :) I like the direct feeling of a cable. I have cable to 4 TB's on the Alfa, blissful control!

The quattro was also Cable activated Bosch Motronic which worked well.

Besides, you can fix a cable with baler twine and coat hanger in an emergency

I love seeing engine transplants like this - there is a MKII Lotus Cortina Locally that I thought wasn't a real Lotus.

Well it's not, but it does have a twin turbo Lotus Esprit V8 shoe horned in there!
