Not sure I would bother P...unless you are in the business, then maybe, 17 1/2 k is a worhwhile investment...
for the individual it makes sense just to visit your local friendly dealer or indy when needed...
would be the equivalent of around 225 visits to get your money back...
and don't forget you would also need to interpret what the diagnostic sw is saying :D

Have to agree Enzo ,I do believe you have to subscribe to get the regular factory updates , think its about £15 a month so not the end or the world , awful lot of visits as enzo said to get some kind of return, cheapest ive seen was on German ebay at 12K euro's

that machine will allow you to service your 458 and FF. As Enzo says, if you are not in the business then it is not really worth it.

Crazy, they are that price indeed, but Mike tells me the hardware is a joke, no memory so you have to keep loading and unloading modules for things like the alarm etc.

You would have thought for $28k you would get at least the cheapest laptop from PC world with it!

Unlike the SD2 the SD3 does in fact have substantial memory and does not need modules to be constantly loaded and unloaded. In fact many different models can be loaded up with ALL modules in advance. There is a finite limit and there are bugs that surface if too many many models are pre-loaded. The licencing/updates are near to £1,500 pa each for Ferrari and Maserati. The SD3 can also work in standalone mode for most operations but will need a laptop for some, notably permanent storage of diag data and detailied diagnosis of the acquired data

hope this helps

Thanks for clarifying that Nigelo , just shows you how much the indies have to payout in order to continue to service the models , one of the keys reasons why we have to continue to give them our support

Thank you Nigelo for clearing that up, and yes, Mike does have the SD2 version.

Still think he paid something like the SD3 above for it.
