Central locking issues

I've got a problem with the central locking on my GS. When you try to lock it the lock activates but immediately unlocks. The doors can be locked from the passenger side with the key, but not the drivers side with the key. Tried a reboot but still the same, any ideas please?
Thanks in Advance

Mostly likely passenger side failing. Known issue. Lock units are IRO £30 if I recall

DIYable as well. Did mine a few months back

I've just had another look and noticed that when locked, if you lift either door handle the window drops as in when you open the door. Also noticed the drivers door lock sounded like it was chattering with the door open and the key operating it.

Yep, that sounds like the solenoid's shafted to me. The driver's door is locking, but then forced to unlock as the passenger door won't lock properly.
At least, that's the one I'd be replacing....

Sounds like good logic to me, so it's the solenoid I need to look at and order?
Thanks

It's of a piece with the lock mechanism

67294900

Bit of a pig to get all the control rods on, and make sure that the rod carriers match the ones on the lock you're removing. I had to swap mine over as one was considerably smaller diameter than the rod itself.

Morning Catman, I'm going to have a look now, are the door cards easy to remove?
Cheers

No problem.

If you get stuck, I'll pm you my mobile as I'm heading out a bit later. It's not that hard a job, but those rods can be a PITA
