Hello,

I got all the lights related to the ABS/ESP on and did an OBD scan with the launch X431.

Result: C1041 - Front RH Speed Sensor: Error.

Also a suspension fault is present, but it´s saying that there is no communication with the NFR Modul. I think it´s because of the speedsensor.

Now I was searching for the Sensor on Eurospares.

Do I need these one: Acceleration Sensor ?

Or do I need the one which is sitting in the bearing--> so a new bearing because the sensor is not separetly avaiable??? What a Scam then:rolleyes:

When I delete the failure codes, the ABS Pump is priming as soon as the car rolls and the brake pedal is pulsing while braking. No lights on the dash then for a few moments.

I think the system needs a moment to recognize there is something wrong. But I think it´s not the sensor itself rather than the opposite part (bearing with the markings for the sensor).

So I would like to try to change the bearing itself without the sensor with wiring. Have anybody tried this?

uuuuuff, the bearing is around 900 shipped. And the car has 4 of them. I asking myself when the other will fail.... Crazy there is now aftermarket solution!

I checked today the live data. The sensor is working and I had readings from it, but when I´m driving constantly the sensor show different/changing speeds and the ABS pump is priming then. So now I´m sure it´s the sensor/whole assembly.

We have all been there ……….. hopefully they are in stock, the last I heard they were out of stock.

Be careful to get OEM as apparently there are Chinese knockoffs in the market and it’s not obvious to the untrained eye.

If in doubt go through a specialist.

Yes, think so too.

But if could be taken off and sold seperatly, there is also a possibility to buy the sensorring aftermarket as new and exchange them and not the whole assembly.

I didn’t think that was possible, but may well be wrong, but in any event that would only help if the sensor was the faulty part, it would not help if the bearing itself is faulty which I suspect is the case for most.

Someone better qualified will be along shortly I am sure.

The bearing made by SKF would fail rarely - it's the **** design sensor that gets corroded and gives out false readings, confusing the ABS ECU. Look at the one linked on the eBay listing - soo much potential for things to go wrong it's amazing it got signed off...

What's wrong with simple split inner race bearings with a built in magnetic sensor as found on the 911s post the 996? No, niente, we are Italian and we will make it really simple to change and really, really expensive to buy... And we will restrict supply by the OEM manufacturer to add insult to injury...

SportsItalia and AS Motorsport are working on a solution apparently, so keep your fingers crossed. In the history file of my car there is a bearing replacement by Greypaul Birmingham at 19k miles and 5yrs old... :ohh:
