AUX/USB GLOVEBOX REPLACEMENT

Hi all,

The connector with the aux/usb in the glovebox department stopped working in my GT ‘13.

Is the only way going about this by going for the expensive official maserati part, or is there a cheaper alternative?

You probably want to find out why it's stopped working rather than just firing the parts canon. I can't imagine it's likely that a static mounted USB socket has failed physically unless you plug and unplug devices a lot?

Have you checked the settings in the NIT?

Pull the NIT unit below the screen and make sure the blue, grey and white Fakra connectors are seated properly.

I have seen the cables coming adrift from the connector.

Failing that check the cable under the glove box were it flexes opening and closing the glove box for bulging.

Fool. I was referring to the senior member of the church who's responsible for procurement. Clearly needs to be sacked.

many thanks! Is there any manual / something I can find online around this?

I would say I’m not too well equipped in the mechanical/technical skill department, and wouldn’t know where to start haha

It's not difficult at all.

Pull the NIT out until you can see behind. All the connections are colour coded so it would be difficult to make a mistake.

If one has become disconnected take a good look inside the aperture.

Careful with sharp edges

When reinserting the NIT the trick is not getting the cables fowling. Sometimes easier removing the cosmetic plastic trim from the sides if the footwell (easy) to reach behind and moving the cables.

Sounds more difficult than written.

Otherwise pop over.
