I spoke to Foxwell about that one, they said it doesn't even reset the service light on Masers despite others telling me it did.

So fake news! Unless we've seen it ourselves it probably can't do it!

Thnx 4 sharing !

Im suspicious of both now...!

After waching a vid circa 2014 setting out a "top 3" scenario, this maybe the cheap option that actually works. And when it doesnt...there are fewer reasons to cry about it !

I have contacted Diagnostic World regarding a test unit and the potential to group buy a load of them once we are happy it does what it says it does.

Watch this space.

I have heard back, looks limited on 32/42 coupes but quite comprehensive on later models, engine, f1, abs, can, brakes, TPS, steering angle etc just checking to see if it can put the handbrake into service mode or simply just read codes.

doesnt do service light but does on Ghibli and QP.

I've taken a punt on the cheaper tool from diagnostic world. I've got the ABS, MSR, Suspension lights coming on. From the posts I've read it is likely that this is from a particular ABS Sensor in one of the bearings. According to the website the diagnostic tool should identify which bearing it is so I can fix the fault myself.
Will let you know how I get on!

I had that when one bank of ignition coils went, when clutch position sensor went, and when engine speed sensor went. And once for no reason at all. I think a number of issues can trigger that unholy trinity of warning lights.

Oh great! Sounds expensive! Will be intesteing to see what the diagnostic tool shows up then...if anything!
The MOT is due end of next month anyway. I'll send the car into a dealer and return the device if it's not useful.

I'm very close to pushing the button on one of these. Rock might invest in one to move sideways into automotive technology as well as all IT & access control stuff. ANyone see anything opbvious as to why this is such a good deal at the moment?

Has another £150 promo discount off the £1875 price at the mo. That is also including VAT so works out to just over £1400 with a bit of Quidco Ebay cashback ;)

Quick update: I've received the diagnostic tool. It's done the job I wanted it for. It successfully diagnosed the ABS, ASR errors as the front left speed sensor. I had hoped it was a false positive as my car was recently towed after a blow out (rear left wheel). The owners manual said I should have switched MSP off when the car was towed as this can cause faults which require a service engineer to clear.
Unfortunately, I've cleared the fault with the diagnostic tool but it either fails to clear or comes back instantly. I can't say for sure which but I think it's the latter.
I'll pop into a dealer/specialist to have it double checked and get a quote for the repair.

One other thing that may be interesting about the diagnostic tool. It seems you can buy updates for other manufacturers. I didn't check all prices but BMW for example was $60. Could be handy in future.

@rockits: Looks like a good piece of kit but I wouldn't claim to know enough about it! :)

I've got the Foxwell NT520 Pro and for £150 it's a great tool. Reads and clears all module codes and gives specific fault details. It doesn't reset service interval though. It also displays live date for various std OBD sensors.
