A good friend pops by with his new pride and joy. He's only had it for 2 hours and wants me to take it for a drive to show him the paddles as they have sold him what he thinks is a auto. Well I wrote the thing off but not my fault as a learner driver from the Ukraine takes us out at speed from the rear. Gutted. Having dinner tonight with him and his wife so will update you all later.

Blimey. Sorry to hear that. Could be an awkward dinner!
Is everyone OK, no whiplash?

He was devastated as his dream was only a Aston. He doesn't get our Italian dreams. Feel for him as its an 09 with 11k just got from Grange at Exeter. I felt bad as I gave him a hard time over the Ford Fiesta key that Aston use.

Oh ****, Phil. That is bloody awkward. Fingers crossed everyone's ok, Ukrainian rear-ender included. Hopefully your friend can get a fast and fair insurance settlement and himself back in a replacement before spring arrives properly.

How did your lad get on after his accident, by the way? I hope he's mended and the law isn't breathing down his neck.

Phil, just tell him it's divine intervention and he should get himself an Italian mistress. I'm just glad everyone is Ok.

Is the car covered under his policy 'any driver' maybe, or your policy 'third party only' and you are relying on the Ukrainian drivers policy to cough up (if he has one) being at fault? Nightmare!

This is the sort of thing we all think can't and won't happen when we let people take our cars out or test drivers when selling. This thread shows that it can and does happen!

Hope everything is sorted soon Phil for everyone's sake and sanity!

Sorry to hear that Phil, like everyone's said, no injuries is the main thing.

No worries about insurance as I'm fully covered on my motor trade policy. Were all ok and dinner was nice although I had a bit of stick for being the Jonah. My lad is now all ok starts work again on Monday. Will post a picture when I can get one of the kids to do it.

Yeah what a year and to top it I find I have some money invested in carbon credits and a bit concerned after the BBC news yesterday. Don't know if any of you guys know anymore about these ?
