Sorry to be a pest but has anyone removed the front shocks on a 3200? is the bottom of the shock absorber really held in with a sleeve, which is corroded solid in place?

Normally the bottom joint just pulls out once the bolt is removed but these appear to have a steel sleeve through the suspension and shock absorber, which i presume has to be pulled out, or in my case removed with some enthusiasm. I am really looking to make sure this sleeve is supposed to come out before getting too enthusiastic

I thought that there is just a bolt that goes through the bottom of the drop link through the hub knuckle and through bottom of the shock. If I recall correctly when I replaced tie rod the bottom of shock moved out of alignment suggesting nothing else holding it in position and I don't recall any sleeve.

yes i think its a combination of the lower bush being totally wasted and rust has made it all look like a sleeve, but its not. I will apply enthusiasm tonight! Sorry probably a Dooh moment there. I will take some pics in case it helps some one else wondering if the heavy tools are appropriate.
