Anyone own a Ferrari 612 Scaglietti?

There are 25 for sale on Pistonheads, worth seeing if one for sale near you. You would be mad to turn down a magazine feature for a car you are selling, great way to drum up interest and exposure. Was surprised to see how much of a premium the manual box adds to asking price, looks like >50%.

Those manuals are pretty rare so ca n understand why people pay more as those early paddle shifts weren't the best.

I remember being stuck behind a really nice '08 in Black with Sports Exhausts whilst trying to disembark the Santander to Portsmouth ferry. He couldn't find a gear for a few minutes! Seriously though, I did speak to a Ferrari specialist in Hertfordshire who reckoned they were much more bullet proof than what had gone before but I guess one would want a sinking fund of about £5/10k for unexpected eventualities. I actually attended the launch of the 612 in the UK at the Science Museum in London. I was amazed how many middle aged men brought their nieces along.....

Not necessarily that easy, especially if the cars are SOR/low mileage. Also, some of my colleagues in the motoring press aren’t the, er, most understanding of foibles. Watch one episode of Top Gear, for example...

The 612 might actually be my favorite Ferrari (not that the list is long to be fair), I absolutely love them.

One that has grown old gracefully. It's a beautiful thing these days.....Subtle when it came out and all the better for it as this has ensured it doesn't look really dated.

I sat in a nice ‘05 one of these today and it was a very pleasant place to be... might do a bit of research, as could be an interesting upgrade option...

Yeah I love them. Elegant, a little understated and like a beauty with long legs - and real presence.
And just pretty rare.

I do kind of see them as the natural level up from a GranTurismo (non-Strad).
I’d love to try a manual one; I imagine they’re already heading into unobtainable levels

Did you get one for the article in the magazine?

No, we’ve had a change of tack for the next few issues but it’s something to pick up again for next year. Pity. Would be good to do a twin test with a Bentley Brooklands - ‘The last aristocrats’...

Just had a look on autotrader, there's a few on there. One at 57k but with 69k miles on the clock and 2005 vintage, another at 124k and only 8k on a 2008. Begs the question. Who buys a car and not drive it?
