So I have this evening added another Italian to the stable alongside our Mito Cloverleaf and GS, in the form of a P2 TS Spider. Bought locally from some alfa enthusiasts she's no garage queen but seems to have had most of the common faults sorted.

She's had some exhaust work done over the years and whilst not unpleasant is a little boomy inside the canin relative to both the GS and Mito, and not terribly interesting on the overrun considering the volume.

Anyone on here have any thoughts on exhaust options?

Welcome, there are a few of these cropping up on the forum :) I don't think the twinie will ever be interesting on the overrun lol. I use a phase 3 2.0JTS as my daily run around, it has not missed a beat this winter, piled through snow, started after 3 weeks being abandoned, could not ask for more. Great wee cars. My 2.0 has a dual exit exhaust not sure the make, it's raspy but not boomy. Ragazzon and Wizzard seem to be the exhausts of choice, but with a mixture of configurations depending on how loud, how boomy etc. you require. Manufacturers original is quite quiet.

I'm looking at exhaust options for my PH2 CF3 TS Spider. I got a quote for a cat back from Wizzard at £595 but I've got a couple of mechanical things to sort before I look at the exhaust. I'm on various forums and Facebook groups on the lookout for something. For a moment I thought I'd snagged an Alfaholics sports cat but it proved to be the wrong one for my car.

I think I've got the original exhaust and its very quiet, well compared to the Ghibli at least. I'm after something that gives a decent note but isn't too bad in the cabin. As much to provide a decent soundtrack to the videos I like to make.

The wizard exhausts are reasonable value for money and they do make a raspy sound rather than a boom. They are alright when warm but sound really tinny in the morning from cold. Quality is on par for the money they cost.

Wizards are excellent. Ragazzon not bad but you change the mid section for the £150 straight through, all h3ll is let loose:

Bloody hooligan! Sounds fantastic, Matt. Mind you, I do like the idea of wizard pipes.

Thanks guys. That car sounds epic.

Finally got round to having a proper look in the daylight today and the tailpipe is branded powerflow. I’m not familiar but a quick google suggests they’re well regarded. Perhaps I just need to adjust my expectations!

However a more pressing and less exciting issue is that someone has glued both wingmirrors to the mounting rather than replacing the internal mechanism and the drives side gave up whilst putting a roof cover on! I was hoping for more than 24 hrs before the first job presented itself. Anyone know if I can just replace the mounting rather than needing a whole wingmirror

Wing mirrors, the casting shears and is not repairable.

Your looking at a pair of salvage items but you can change your outer casings over so you don’t have to repaint them.

Alfa mirror mountings of the 90s now there is a subject for debate, they all seize and then break and replacements (new or used) are getting harder to source.

Oh and since you're such a knowledgeable bunch, do you know what my options are for replacing the glass for the front drivers side fog light? The bulbs are all good, it’s just the glass that’s broken. Thanks!

So after a relatively short amount of time I’m finding the powerflow exhaust drones too much for my liking. Any thoughts on what to try to quieten it down a bit?

I think drone is consistent feedback from Powerflow exhausts especially if its just a back box. There is more to making exhausts than just making them louder and some companies miss the balance point.

I think they are sealed. You can normally pick them up relatively cheaply second hand.

This car is hilarious. After replacing the battery all the dash lights now don’t work - the cabin was in complete darkness when i drove home tonigbt! A blown fuse?

What is with Italian cars. If it were a Renault I would be selling it but for some reason the more an Alfa plays up the more I like it!

Never had that, and I have three of them lol. In fact they have all been quite well behaved.

They are addictive. I took mine for a drive out in the Yorkshire Dales a couple of Sunday's ago. The power hood stopped working halfway down so I had to stow it manually. Part way through the drive this happened https://youtu.be/IXujzJ1ZB9k?t=5m17s

Still wouldn't part with it though. I view it all as getting a nearly 80k miles car up to scratch after its not been used properly for a few years.

I've not had any electrical problems yet though.

I've fixed the hood issue by servicing the clamshell release mechanism and reseating a cable that had come loose. The exhaust has a replacement on the way and should be ready for the next Dales run on Sunday.

I am nervous of the power hood - feels like just a matter of time! The advice from my local specialist is that all Italian cars need to be used and hate being sat. Sounds like more than enough incentive to get the roof down at every opportunity!

What exhaust have you gone for? Really not happy with the powerflow on mine.
