I've not seen this one around and there are not that many 3200's in Bath. I believe that Alfanet and Cortese used a specialist that came to them but I have taken mine to another Independent for servicing.

Cortes and Alfa Net are no more...however Duncan who servied cars for Alfa Net is still trading. He does not have a SD system which you need if you have a 3200 though.

Great advert. Seems a good and trustworthy seller, and with these types of car you aren't just buying the car but the seller as well.

The advert says that the diagnostics were done by Dick Lovett, so seems genuine and lines up with what you are saying Peter.

Cheers guys for the opinions - thought it might be Alfanet but didn't realise they had gone now. Will give the seller and ring and garner some more info.

Good luck - and definitely get an independent inspection (unless you are very knowledgeable yourself).

This car looks familiar to me, I think I paid for an inspection on it about 18 months ago, it was for sale for about 12K back then. I had the car inspected after it came down to Bath from Scotland, the bad news is that although it has low miles it has spent most of its life sitting outside in Scots winters which has not done it any good!. I have a copy of the maintenance receipts and they include such things a replacing corroded terminal blocks and relays. The inspection report basically said "stay away", if you are really interested I probably still have the report and other docs.

Hmmm! Thanks guys - will give the owner a call to check but looks like you may have saved me a journey...

The car would have to be a low price with room for anticipated work on it. It looks as though it may have been detailed if it has sat outside for a few years. Specialists in Bristol..check the Independant Maserati Specialists thread on here..!!

All maseratis need an inspection, this is no different

Could be 5k to put right.....even if nothing appears wrong

Yes could be, that's why it would have to be priced right initially, but I bet they want about £10K..??

Even if an inspection was done a year ago it would be meaningless now, any work that needed doing might have been done. The fact a car had sat outside or needed stuff doing to it in the past has little bearing on how it is now. Many cars have been unloved at some point in their history, doesn't mean they can't or haven't been put right.

I agree Nick, as usual an inspection now is essential before you buy, just to make sure what you have in front of you..!!
