3200 low beam

Hi Guys,

Both my headlights have stopped working on low beam, I have checked the fuses (both OK), High beam works fine and I can hear the High Beam relay clicking, but not the Low Beam relay.
I have swapped the high and low beam relays and same result, high beam relay works, but no low beam.
So I have ruled out both the fuses and both the relays..... where do I look next?
I suspect it is some unrelated fuse that has blown and is causing the problem, but I don't quite know where to start.
Any advice will be appreciated.

Cheers

The full beams are working so you must have power at the switch (check), it is possible that you have a bad earth to the low beam circuit, the fuses would be OK but still not working, it could even be the light stalk that has an issue on the low beam side..??

I think it's the light stalk.....main beams alright so the selector for the lower is the problem

Hi All,

I thought it would be useful to provide the answer to what happened to my low beam.
I assumed that the problem must be something "complex and Italian", but not so.
The answer..... both bulbs had blown!! After I explained to my mechanic that I had checked fuses and relays, he made the simple check to see if there was 12V at the light fitting and there was!

So his simple advice, don't automatically assume that the problem is complicated, check the simple things first.

PS the failed lamps were Philips and only 6 months old, what are the odds of both failing?

Cheers

6 months old is nothing in reality, they should last 10 times longer than that, I would be tempted to complain to Philips and get a new set FOC..!!
