Hi,
I'm Skid from Italy; recently I have discovered that my girlfriend' uncle has a..... red manual Maserati 3200 gt assetto corsa (italian edition):)

Since I am a car passionate and an engineer working in the automotive field ,I decided to help the uncle in the maintenance with his faboulous car; than I started reading this fantastic forum.
The car is good by now....is 2001 ,43000 km but has the normal electric harness problems: I downloaded the Workshop Manual but I have to check for the dtc on obd
I think the car is obdII correct?
so is via can line not kl line..correct?
and finally ...can I use elem 327 for reading?

thank u in advance for all the suggestions!

bye!

Welcome Skid!

The car will more than likely be pre-obd and use the old LANCIA/FIAT three pin connector. You can convert OBD to three pin plug by ordering a cable off Ebay. Once you have the cable download Unidiag and use that to read the codes.

Welcome along Skid

My 2001 AC was OBD but I don't know if they all were?

And remember to please post some photos when you get the chance - what Italian edition number AC is his car?

You can read the codes and sensors from the engine ecu using a generic elm327 adapter and the torque application for Android

For the other ecus you need the Maserati sd2

Thanks for the photos Skid - interesting rear diffuser and exhausts there, I've not seen that before, it looks good though and suits the AC as it sits lower than standard. A very tidy looking engine bay too

thanks but is not mine unfortunately!;)
talking with the uncle....he said he modified the car: the diffuser it should be from a 360 modena...the car is lowered and enlarged...the ecu powered to 420 hp

I got the idea that the thousand of diagnosis are caused from floating earth connections and connectors that are fiat old style (plastics getting harder and contacts floats ... creating spikes that the ECU of that time did not recorded as errors ...) these connectors aren't used since 2008 '.... dashboards being made by marelli and had similar defects of the thesis etc. lybra of that years
