Hi Allan,

Warm welcome to AC ownership, you have a classic everybody wants!! I assume the description which included Cruise Control was not quite correct? If it was and somehow you have cruise on this AC, I would be interested in knowing how it has been done. WHEN DO YOU PICK HER UP??
Cheers

Hi, thanks for all the kind comments. No doubt will have loads of questions in the forthcomong weeks. As for the description, looks like that is just an ebay generic type thing, not to be taken too literally. Wont be picking her up until the beginning of May, when I return from work.

Just a word of caution.......on a damp roundabout, wet day....theres an awful lot of power instantly delivered to rears......get used to it first before ending up doing a piroutte as a few have done in first week of ownership!!!!!!

Four days - actually and it was just after the roundabout - preceeded by "what does this buttton do?"

I know the feeling RSM, you made a bit of a mess of the last one!!
Allan, if you have had TVR's which are no slouches, then you should not have a problem, just watch the rear when the turbo's kick in fully in sport, you will know when??

Thanks, will do. Coming from a TVR Cerbera, and Tuscan, so will take care.

Allandwf,

I remember your 3200AC has a Capristo exhaust, I cannot seem to find details of such a system anywhere.
Do you have an invoice from the previous owner, or a sound clip on youtube of it?

Thanks in advance,

EVO

Hi , don't have any invoice for it. All I know is it looks very well made, sounds quite deep, need to hear it next to another to compare. I have a sound clip that I will try and upload, and will post link when done.

As requested, sorry about the quality, as used phone. Car was also cold, and 2C air temperature.

Many thanks chap, your car does sound fantastic. Where are you based, I’d love to hear it in person.

I have a Capristo exhaust on my Ferrari 355 and I know it’s the best available on that car. The general consensus within Maserati circles is that Larini offer the best exhaust for the 3200. Considering I am quite familiar with the Capristo brand, I would rather stick with them; this sound clip has reinforced this view. Now, all I have to do is find a supplier.

Thanks again,
EVO

ETA: I've just had an e-mail from Antonio (Capristo MD) in Germany who tells me the exhaust is currently in development and will be available in the next few months. Quite how you managed to get one, I have no idea. Are you sure it is not a SECA exhaust as I know the UK supplier for Capristo which is Scuderia Systems also offer this system?

Hi, thanks for the info. I'm only going by what I was told. I will try and get the car up, so I can try and find any tags, stampings etc. Will keep you posted.

Thanks, sorry to be such a royal PITA but I was the same with my Porsche 996 GT2 Mk2; I ended up creating an offline register of all 105/129 cars that remain in the UK. I just like to do my research before pursuing anything. I’m actually trying to speak to the Maserati factory to get a better idea of build numbers and see if there is any way of getting a letter of authenticity for our cars.

I look forward to the update.
