It looks like these are for the bigger discs on the GT S so you'll need the bigger calipres too

Typically doesn't cover the QP 4.7s :-(

I need new front disks and pads. I would welcome some direction on where i could get these at reasonable cost.
Im i right in thinking there is no buying group for the 4.7 unlike some of the older models ?

Thanks

Have you tried having them skimmed, I did to great success.

We need to look into this.

4.7 front brakes are bigger than 4.2 but rear brakes are thankfully the same.

I looked at the FD brakes but they are hardly cheaper than OEM once imported and they don't do pad wear sensors.

Seems to be about the same price for the rear discs as well. I'll talk to Emblem when I go to collect my QP V from them tomorrow, and I'll probably order a set of discs for use in the future. Brakes and tyres are the key items that need replacing regularly on the QP. £120 or so per disc is a bargain.

These look like worth investing in now for future use. Presumably there's no issue with getting them now and holding until needed even if it's a while.

...Am i right in thinking there is no buying group for the 4.7 unlike some of the older models ?...

Correct. As we were starting to progress the provision of brake discs for the 4.2 GT and QP, Eurospares started selling pattern discs at a sensible price. We have explored producing alternative discs for the 4.7 cars, but our partner isn't able to help produce replacements for the front as they don't make dual-cast discs. They said they could make them as a 1-piece cast iron disc, but that's not useful for a number of reasons. We decided not to pursue this any further as we couldn't find a dual-cast manufacturer outside of Brembo.

Thanks all, at least i know the score now. I'll try to get them skimmed first and if that doesn't work bite the bullet (as stopping is quite important). Crazy price difference !

Keep this qwick as I am on a steam driven laptop (long story for later)
Ordered the discs and pads from here this a.m. and it would have been around £360
The lovely chap on the line said they do a complete kit for £340 and asked if I would rather have that.................
Delivery tomorrow

Think I might already be running these on my QP, supplied from eurospares earlier this year at someone else's* expense.
No complaints. Might as well get another pair and keep them as spares. Wonder why only until 30th?

*The dealer promised new pads and disks - took some arm twisting after he noticed Sport GT prices. Then a parcel arrived from Halstead)

Think Drew has these on his QP...I posted this item previously.

I do. No problems, other than the bells aren't rust-treated, so it would be a good idea to paint them when new. I'd have no hesitation in buying them again.

The SM disks for the 3200/4200/GS are far better finished though.

^^^ ditto comments by Drew. Fitted mine unpainted, was in a rush and found myself without paint. Sure I had a tin of hammerite.

Best check the rears when they arrive Dave to make sure as they were the wrong ones for my car. I tried two sets from them and in the end fitted genuine parts. Fronts were fine other than needing painting as already pointed out.
