    Maseratis - Spotted

Spent the week in central London for work. Only saw one Maserati, a dark blue GranCab on Piccadilly today. Who has stolen our cars?

    Alpine Tour 2024

Some effort. We went over to Cortina after the Timmelsjoch and the roads getting there were nearly as good. Venice is interesting, the photo is when we picked the car up in the multi. I was worried it would not start as they make you park it unlocked, keys on the dash and then they move it the...

    My Oceanic Blue GTS

The delights of Maserati spec! The 4.7 MC GTS came with the paddles your's has and the 4.7 Auto GTS (and 4.2) came with a smaller paddle that I think is more substantial but obviously harder to use when in a corner. Mind I was taught never to change gear with any steering lock on. These are...

    My Oceanic Blue GTS

Very nice, similar colour scheme to mine. Uprated larger paddles, wood trim and calipers (standard fit was black).

    Alpine Tour 2024

Yep, in some of my wilder cycling days on the Scottish hills I have overtaken cars on the descents. They were normally OAP shopping cars mind so it was hardly a major achievement. I can't believe the speed the proper cyclists get up to on the Alpine descents.

    Alpine Tour 2024

Timmelsjoch last year, well worth the 18 euros or so. Only open about five months of the year.

Maserati UK sales (or rather lack of them)

    9250 miles or 12 months.

Maserati UK sales (or rather lack of them)

I'm sure if fixing it was easy then Stellantis would have done so. It is hard creating that fairy dust environment which makes people pay a lot more for only a little more. Do people realise that a Cayenne is a Touareg or a Bentaya is a Q7? Probably not but the unit profit margins will be vastly...

Maserati UK sales (or rather lack of them)

Agree. The current supercar, GT coupe and GT convertible are brilliant cars and will sell to a degree. Make them expensive and exclusive with no/limited discounts and build a brand messaging around it like VW have done with Bentley. If I was buying a new MC20 I would not want to pick it up next...

Maserati UK sales (or rather lack of them)

Maserati UK sold 65 cars in January and February. That's despite the move 'downmarket' to cheaper SUVs with the Grecale. Last year in total they sold 892 units. The two figures for lower priced Alfa Romeo are 133 and 1546 respectively. For those of us who love either or both brands this is...

    High miles?

I've owned Maseratis' for a quarter of a century and each one has had its value decimated by mileage if that helps? Unsorned my Granturismo today so ready for another enjoyable season of collapsing residuals. Still worth it though.

Autocar best used cars under £25,000

Well the GranTurismo made it to a relatively long list with a fair write up. Taxing mine on Friday for the season and will remind myself what they are like: https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/best-used-cars-25000-and-under

    Road Tax

I did that last year. It was cheaper to unSORN in March than April as the price hike was more than a month’s charge so March was essentially free. Not so this year.

    Sportsitalia…the end

I hope you find new premises, Matt, as there is clearly lots of demand for Maserati/Specialist servicing. Don’t lose the collective Maserati faith.

    Maserati Grecale

Yep and I also think the Levante as well. Something to do with the transition to the four cylinder engines which are a higher specific output. Still nothing silly mind when you think of what Merc does with small engines.

    Standard Infotainment Features

Indeed. I was in Japan a few years back and never understood this until I saw it. Strange.

    Maserati Grecale

Different extremes of what is possible I guess with different motivation drivers. I remember my various V8 Audis' of two decades back which went to 19000 miles irrespective of how you drove them. I would hope that modern sensors are better and can pick up different usage patterns. I don't mind...

    Maserati Grecale

Indeed. I guess we all have different stages at which we jump off the purchase decision. For me a Maserati SUV would be getting serviced every eight months which is just nuts when Porsche offers 20000 miles/two year intervals. I've no problem with annual servicing like my XC90 has as long as the...

Question re: changing GT 4.7 shocks.

Other way round. Find a rough road and see if the ride hardens if you press Sport. FWIW lots of MC Shifts have skyhook too as a cost extra.

    Maserati Grecale

I was looking at them as there are deals on physical cars but then I got the service interval which was just far too short for the use I would have put it to - 9250 miles or one year. Same for Levante. I don’t know what they have done to a two litre four pot for its mileage limit to be so low.
