    Autocar 7th Feb

Nice little article in Autocar this week about Gransports and Gransport Spyders. The main pics are actually of my 4200 Spyder from a 2017 article in Classic and Sportscar ! I still have the car, so it was a bit of a shock walking into WH Smith and seeing it on the front cover!

    4200 clutch pedal rubber cover

Anyone got one of these lurking about? Eurospares don't show it as available. Beer tokens are available:cool:

    Spyder numbers and being unique!

I wrote to the factory to get some idea about the numbers of Spyder GT vehicles that were produced. The information provided is quite interesting: In 2003, Maserati sold twelve RHD Spyder GT (MY03) in the UK. (This model year is pre-facelift, but does include the updates to vehicle structure...

Should I stay or should I go now?

I'm torn. Should I sell my 2003 manual Spyder or should I keep it? I've owned her for nearly 10 years and loved every moment. Twice to Italy, front cover of Classic and Sportscar, lot's of very happy memories. She's an unmolested example, and I have kept her well fettled. BUT, since I bought...

Gratuitous Spyder at the factory shot..

Just going through my old photo bucket account and found this picture of my Spyder on the display forecourt in front of the factory. It probably dates from 2012 or thereabouts. She looks a bit mucky following the drive from the UK...

    Hood up or hood down

Over the winter I rarely use my Spyder, and it lives in the garage with the hood up. For most of the past 5 months though it's been in there with the hood down. My garage is weather tight, dry and heated, and the roof was put down when it was dry. Am I doing any damage keeping the hood down...

Granturismo S to Aston Martin V12 Vantage S - Madness?

As the thread title suggests, I am considering this switch. A good move or madness? Anyone got any views?

    future classics?

I was talking to someone today who reckoned that the 4200/spyder/gransport series cars would never been considered as "classics" and as such would never be worth very much....... is he right? I don't own mine for any reasons of future fortune, but nevertheless to suggest that these cars are not...

    Driving to Devon today!

Heads up all Maseristi.. I'm driving to Devon today from the East Midlands in my 4200 Spyder (the one in my profile pic) - If you see me be sure to flash / wave / say hello, even if you're not in your on P&J. Or will I get to Devon unspotted.....? :)

wet passenger footwell - not heater matrix

I parked the Spyder on my (quite flat) drive last night instead of in the garage where she normally lives. It rained hard in the night, and this morning the passenger footwell is a bit wet. Not sodden, but definitely wet. Here's what I've checked/done so far.... The passenger window was...

    Brera Spider underfloor bracing

Was looking under our Brera spider today and noticed that one of the underfloor cross braces has corroded through completely. They appear to be just a strips of metal, about 4mm thick, bolted to the underside ahead of the rear suspension. Anybody got any clue where I can get one of these...

    What a difference....

Just replaced all 4 pirellis on my Spyder with Michelin Pilot Sport4. All I can say is, wow. So much nicer to drive with a nice steering feel. Tyres noise is much reduced (especially the front) and the ride is significantly improved.

September Classic and Sports Car Magazine.....

....has a three way test between a 4200 Spyder, SL 55AMG, Jag XKR Cabrio. Maserati is described as the sports car of the three...... Jag for the golf club car park..... Mercedes as the best all rounder! My Spyder btw! :happy2:

    Granturismo rear park sensors

Does anyone know what car these are off? My rears are showing fault (fronts are OK) and I don't fancy paying 80 quid per unit, when the bits are probably off something simple and would cost two bob and a goldfish!

    Bit of a fuel smell

I have an intermittent fuel smell in the cabin problem on my spyder. The carbon thing on the tank was replaced last year but it has not cured it. There are no leaks as far as I can see, and the pipework has been thoroughly checked, to no avail. The suggestion made was to replace the fuel...

Granturismo 4.7s rear silencers for sale

As per the thread title, 4.7s rear silencers for sale now that my Larinis are installed. These are the ones with the quad chrome pipes. They are valved, but both valves need repair or replacement. These things cost an arm and a leg from Maserati, but if someone wants to offer me 500 quid...

    Does anyone have......

a set of installation instructions for the switchable Larini exhausts? I have the full kit with the key fobs etc that was removed from another GT. Obviously the silencers are the easy bit, and I do have the twin vacuum feeds for my current OEM silencers (its a 4.7S) but I'd love to fit the...

Wanted: Granturismo 4.7s auto front discs

Anyone know if there is an alternative to the horribly pricey OEM stuff? I've checked a few places (EBC etc) and it does not look like there is much out there.
