    Biturbos/number cars/Ghibli IIs for sale

But once you have them back up together, they are reliable. I’ve been using mine a fair bit recently (at least twice a week), and costs this year have been negligible. So it’s still a cheap ownership experience overall.

    Pic of the day

You could have bought it for less than £50k if you had been at the auction with me a month or so ago. It's in fantastic condition.

    Buying a 1996 Ghibli ?

A (nearly) 30 year old Maserati biturbo Ghibli is likely to cost you quite a bit in servicing and repairs, and things will break (replacements for which may then be difficult to source). To use one as a daily car, and do that many miles, is a brave shout. I did this when these cars were new...

Wheel alternatives for a Biturbo 430...

Someone on here was selling a set of Ghibli Mille Miglia wheels recently. Was it Ian Roberts, maybe?

I'd like to buy a Strad. Anyone selling a decent one for a good price

Yes - Iain, with the MC Trofeo Strad as well.

    Pic of the day

Looks like the worst track day ever. I take it the chap at the front had broken down.

    EV car driving phenomenon

In case you didn’t know, you can disable the automatic steering (otherwise known as the annoying tugging) by pressing the button on the end of the left hand stalk. On our first E-Tron, pressing for one second did it. In our new one you have to hold it in for about three seconds. (And you have to...

    EV car driving phenomenon

That is fairly standard across EVs. You can set the regen, or/and use the paddles to override it.

    EV car driving phenomenon

May be due to features such as "radar following" of the car in front? Certainly never experienced any rocking sensation in our EV Audis, nor is it difficult to keep a steady/constant speed. In fact, quite the contrary. There are no gears, so it's completely smooth power delivery at all times...

    Joining the electric car club

Nice in green. A very lovely daily/commuting car. Keep a sonorous V8 or V12 ICE along with it for weekend use, and you'll have a fabulous combination.

    Pic of the day

That's not Ronnie Peterson. It's Keith Chegwin.

Good independent specialist in Bristol/Bath (UK) area?

I suspect Emblem in Poole will be your nearest true Maserati specialist. There’s not a well recognised one near Bath/Bristol.

A few of us on here like a little French car

Lots of manufacturers make crazy track specials in very low, limited numbers for their ardent fans. Be that Lambo, Ferrari, Aston, McLaren, Bugatti etc., and they all sell out instantly. So why not Alpine. The A110R at circa £95k is about as good a road-and-track car as you can buy in the U.K...

A few of us on here like a little French car

Don’t worry Phil. The likes of you and I won’t be on the invite list to buy one of these! Nothing wrong with the base model anyway. Especially not when a sensible mileage second hand one can be had for mid GBP 30’s.

    Joining the electric car club

BYD (Chinese brand of EV’s) has overtaken Tesla as the biggest supplier. Tesla has the problem of boring and aging designs, with nothing new coming to tempt buyers. China is bringing in new models and at lower prices, so sells more. So as usual, it’s not rocket science, it’s just common sense...

How much on average should one budget on maintaining their Maserati

What era of QP are you considering? A QP VI should have lower running costs than a QP V. As would a good QP IV (but those are hard to find). As others have said, buy the best you can find/afford in the first place, and have a PPI by a Maserati specialist. You certainly should have years when...

    CAR AUCTIONS

It's one from his series of anti-war piccies, showing a young girl holding a bomb. Can't remember the name from the top of my head, but maybe Bomb Love (or something similar to that).

    Art Reviewers Societal Exemplaires

If your Maserati starts, it’s a car. If it doesn’t, it’s a work of art. And by that definition, currently my Urraco is a work of art (at Emblem Gallery in Poole).

    CAR AUCTIONS

Art is very personal - what is attractive and interesting to one person can mean nothing to the next. I bought a Banksy at the most recent auction of his work, though am yet to have it framed and hung. Instantly recognisable by virtually everyone, and a good talking point when people see it. If...

    Alfa Milano

Looks completely normal. Much like a Fiesta (especially in that light blue colour). MG are certainly on the charge, giving everyday people the everyday they car they want, at a low price and will a decent warranty. No wonder the MG is the best selling new car in the U.K. currently.
