Dave, Not very electrically minded to that level. The alternator is only kicking out about 16amos and it should be 60+ so the assumption is that it is on its way out. Not even sure what parts I would need or where to get them.

You can adjust the lock at the bottom, might just need moving up a few mm.???

Happy days, good bit of fault finding...well done. My saga continues, apparently no one can recondition my alternator. One last shot tomorrow, otherwise I am looking at a new one and the subsequent excessive lead time....not happy.

Apologies Tappets, car still in the garage so have yet to get some pictures. However it does sound like your solenoid is operating correctly so, like mine, just some minor adjustment.

Tappers, have you applied a voltage across the solenoid to see if it operates??

All fixed, well the boot is anyway. Turns out everything is working as it should but when connected together it didn’t work. Some minor fettling, slight adjustment and the boot release works. I think over time, things have worn, loosened slightly and and just needed minor adjustment. Thanks for...

Gents, just having similar problems myself, at almost £300 for a new one, I have had a play with mine. It returns when a voltage is applied across it but will not return. When it was on the car, the boot would not close, so it will jot return, the key will also not turn in the lock...any...

Morning Peeps, Looking for a boot locking solenoid for a 3200 GT, if anyone has one, or knows where I can get one, any help would be appreciated. I am in touch with numerous breakers and some dealers but as yet, no joy. Cheers stuart

Afternoon peeps, Anyone know where I can get a part number or a replacement solenoid for the boot release, the item is fitted to item 11 in the below picture, no part numbers on Eurospares as it is not shown, any help would be appreciated. Cheers Stuart

Thanks for the replies peeps, it is definitely the Alternator as it is only outpiutting 16Amps when it shluld be around 60. Hopefully will be getting the car into the garage to get it sorted this week.

Had to call the AA out this morning, bit of a rubbish reason but I didn't have the time to investigate myself. The boot lid would not lock, turns out, after some investigation that the closing solenoid is defective. Had a look at the Eurospares website but the item is not mentioned, after a chat...
