I’m so confident I’m right with no actual knowledge I’m preparing the next QOTD....

I’ve got one on canals.....

Oh dear the canal question will have to wait as that is not the answer I'm looking for.

Too early for clues but Maserati have actually done this twice

Indeed, Maserati are the only team to win the FIA GT1 Championship twice. 2005 & 2007 with the MC12.

But then it did only run for 3 years. But still.....

Gets very confusing, the FIA GT Championship ran in a number of guises from 1997 to 2009 with various classes including GT1 - 2005-09 Maserati won the manufacturers title in the MC12. FIA GT1 World Championships were 2010-12 and Maserati only won the first year before withdrawing. Ferrari have also won FIA GT Championships which still runs today in another guise.

The event I am looking for has been running for a lot longer on the same track

Newbie here :).. but is it that they won the Indy 500 2 years running?

Sorry I completely missed this and you are spot on well done and welcome

The downside of getting the correct answer is that is now down to you set the next question - good luck ;0

No problem and thank you!

Right, ok.. I’ll continue the Maserati theme with perhaps a bit of an easier one.

Before their race cars, what were Maserati best known for?
