aren't they over 100k if you are allowed to buy one? interesting to compare servicing tyres, fuel and the big one - depreciation over 5 years.
I’ll bet no comparison. It's just a turbo 4 banger. Which is why £70K ain’t cheap by any stretch…

A brand new Alpine A110 is £50k, and there’s no need to go crazy on spec.
Then the GT and the S are £60k.
You can spend £70k on one, but you don’t have to.
And at £50k, I think the base model is a cracking buy.

I’d love one, but £70k is a crazy price in my opinion, as are most new cars. The fact they’re 0% finance clearly demonstrates they are struggling to sell in the numbers they’d wish to be attaining.
Agreed. Alpine just can’t sell enough of them. Same problem for Aston, Lotus, Maserati, McLaren, etc.
I think they sold about 4500 A110 worldwide last year, so not a lot.

That number is just shy of 4400…it’s still up over 22% from 2022. 3rd year on the trot that sales ( deliveries) have increased. Up 34% in Germany, 32% in Belgium, & 26% in France apparently…
Europes new ‘ General Safety Regulations 2’ hits in July. Meaning they will have to keep under the ‘ low volume production’ threshold (1500 units p.a) to meet the exemption….
You can’t win..!

I can't expect I'll be able to spend £50k on a car any time soon so a little above my pay grade. Great car and concept. Just like most things that are all getting very expensive in real terms.

The concept of simpler, smaller and lighter is the way forward for me. Not more complex, bigger and heavier. That will never solve anything.

I suppose selling so few explains why residuals are so high. Good news for owners.
You could still pay £35-£40k for one that was £50k five years ago.

Didn’t realise a new one was £50k, that’s a good value car if it isn’t completely sparse with zero options.

Im in a similar boat ,to spend £50K on another car I'd have to go back to Africa for 3 months or so , which most likely see me hung drawn and quartered , either by the wife or by the locals https://www.eyeradio.org/four-kapoeta-east-gold-miners-drown-as-heavy-rain-floods-pits/

The equipment you see in the pictures is my old equipment and concession that I sold to an Australian company, they obviously haven't adhered to the safety standards I had implemented when I officially handed over. Im still waiting to find out if any of my previous staff were casualties .

I certainly wouldnt go back now as im sure in some way they would try and hold me responsible in some way ( the local tribes that is ) And I certainly wouldn't want to be one of those Australians now thats for sure

Agree, especially when you consider that buys a perfect Strad but the Alpine is different again and unless you can squeeze into an Exige, a unique experience. The good news is strong residuals. A new one cost just over 50k 7 years ago and they are still worth north of 30k. By modern car standards (let alone EVs) that is pretty good. I imagine light weight will mean light on tyres and 35-40mpg helps too. Where else would we go for that budget (not the 70k but the TCO - total cost of ownership over 5 years/30k miles)?
We went here, for 30k new, comes with 10 year warranty.
(I’m sad the alpine is auto only, like the 4C was too, shame)

£49,995 is the base model, with no extras. But you still get leather interior, air-con, Apple Car Play, etc. It’s things like different paint, different wheels and extra speakers that cost more. So if what you want is low weight, good fun, and good value, the base car makes sense.

Why does that look so much better than the GT86s on google images? Am I missing something? I have read many promising reviews but never met anyone who has bought one. Are they still flat4s too?

In my opinion they look great. It’s a flat 4 but now a 230bhp 2.4 instead of the 2.0 of the GT86. Much better torque too. It’s a great car, feels (and is) much lighter than most modern cars, handles very well, really fun to drive. Plenty quick enough for uk roads, not as fast as an alpine/cayman of course but you can use more of it. Not as refined in an NVH way as most modern cars, but I like that more raw feel. You have to be quite precise with throttle/clutch in low gears or you can be a tad learner-ish. I think it’s just throttle mapping being quite aggressive for the responsive feel. You soon get used to it though.
No nanny state stuff to turn off like lane assist, speed bongs, cameras looking ant your eyes etc. All it has is blind spot lights in mirrors. That’s it. Great.

They stopped making them for europe because of the new ISA/GSR2 rules for all the ‘safety’ cr@p that is mandatory for all new cars sold from July 24 (that no-one actually wants)

More people should buy an Alpine. Just about the best drivers car available for vaguely sensible money, and only 1100kg.
I‘m amazed only about 200 a year sell in the U.K.
It just goes to show how few people care about their actual driving experience. (Lots say they do, but yet they still buy an Audi, etc.)
1100kg a bit lardy then ;)

A standard Fulvia S2 is about 950kg, mine has a few weight saving mods, ally openings, magnesium wheels, light weight seats etc so probably 900kg or thereabouts you certainly notice the lack of weight in the way it handles and changes direction and is surprisingly nippy powered by its 93 bhp 1.3 V4

Nippy, yes. But still slow.
Whereas the Alpine can crack a sub 4 second 0-60.

Overall, the Alpine is cheaper than its equivalent Porsche, as well as being lighter, faster, and more fun. But still the masses buy Caymans instead. It baffles me.

The Alpine is still heavier and slower than my Westfield though. A car that makes the Fulvia sound 150kg overweight and 150bhp underpowered!
