Potential new owner - seeking the right Granturismo

Cheers Ewan, I appreciate the plug. The car sold for a bit more than I expected.

    Pic of the day

Staying with the bike theme (again), definitely a case of "wish I was there"

    Granturismo Mc Shift noise

Really sorry to hear this - as has been said before, a terrible way to start what should be a very enjoyable ownership experience. In terms of options - have you considered the small claims court? I've represented a previous employer a few times there, and have been really impressed by the...

    Mouse In Wiring Loom Trauma

Yup, that's about the size of it if they have to replace the loom - still waiting for the estimate/quote, I have a mental image of a fruit machine spinning and am just waiting to see what the numbers are and how many of them there are. Will be researching engine-bay anti-rodent sirens in order...

    Mouse In Wiring Loom Trauma

I must admit, there was a sound of chomping in the background while I was waiting - I just assumed it was someone's birthday and they were all eating cakes.

    Mouse In Wiring Loom Trauma

The dealer is making a video of the damage and getting back to me with a quote. They have said it is beyond repair due to the extent of the damage - I understand that its sometimes wise to take this with a pinch of salt, so may well take your advice and seek a second opinion. At the very least...

    Mouse In Wiring Loom Trauma

No, not covered by warranty - its possible that it might be covered by insurance, but this case is complicated by the fact that the car was under the storage facility's insurance from December through to the end of March, and I have no real idea if the mouse took up residence before or during...

    Mouse In Wiring Loom Trauma

Retrieved the Granturismo from winter storage last weekend and found a couple of warning lights on - EML (Lambda sensors), Parking Aid not available & Alarm not available. I assumed the battery had got a bit low at some point and befuddled the ECU, but when I took it in to have it checked out...

    Stephen Hawking - RIP

An incredible example of mind over matter. Apparently, he had a form of MND that was more survivable than the norm, but surviving for 50 + years after his initial diagnosis is staggering. Very sad to see such an inspirational bloke pass away.

    Invite from Maserati

I bought my GT Sport from a joint Maserati / Renault dealer and keep getting Invites to Renault launches - I obviously look a bit too down-at-heel for the Maserati ones!

    Insurance time

I've been on Admiral Multicar for GT Sport & 156 GTA for a couple of years - I decided to switch as their valuation on the GTA was derisory, and I got a better quote from Adrian Flux...only problem was, they wanted me to take policy out there and then and do not hold quote for you.

    2012/2013 Real world MPG GTS

I average 18-19 mpg overall for my GTSport MC-Auto (Mixture of suburban and NSL but very little motorway stuff), but I did average 28 MPG on a Sevenoaks - Manchester - Sevenoaks trip, including a total of about an hour's nose-to-tail crawling on the outskirts of Manchester, which kind of amazed...

    V4, V6, V8, V10, V12 - pick one of each...

V4: Ducati Hypermotard & Ducati 996r (possibly pushing it a bit far, but there are four V-configured cylinders and four wheels, and they cover commuting & trackdays very nicely) V6: Alfa 156 GTA V8: Granturismo Sport V10: Audi RS6 V12: Lamborghini Muira I'm guessing the Muira would be...

"Alarm Unavailable" - Is There a Battery Reset?

I wasn't sure if there was any particular sequence involved, or if it was just a case of disconnecting and connecting again. I'll try the disconnect from a disarmed state and see what happens. Many thanks for the suggestions...much appreciated!

"Alarm Unavailable" - Is There a Battery Reset?

Thanks! I'll give it a go in the morning. I did disconnect the negative terminal to recharge it, and it didn't reset when I reconnected, but second time may well be lucky.
