After digging a little deeper, it's the nut on the tie rod that I need to undo. I was under the wrong impression that I need to remove the tie rod which I understand is part of the steering rack.
After watching the YouTube video I have now found my bearings..
Took the car for a tracking and alignment, the front off side tie rod nut is completely seized. Will need to replace the tie rod
I cannot locate part number on Euro spares/sud.parts etc...
Compatible with the GT cars?

started MY 2010 QPV last week.
I kept the bonnet open as it had been hibernating over the winter.
initially cranked the car with the fuel pump fuse removed to get the oil pressure up.
then started the car
there was a puff of white smoke that lasted about 15 secs.
not happened since.
I am sure...
had this levelling problem with NS lamp.
when removed it to check, there were broken plastic bits, i think due to seized parts even though the motor was working.
these lamps are expensive, was wondering if there is a firm that can repair these items?

love the idea of the oil pump but will require more skill then i possess
disabling the fuel pump via fuse removal sound promising.
sorry to be lazy....where would the fuse be (QPV)?

had an Aston DB9 that had the facility to turn the engine over without starting the car.
I presume this was useful after the car had to be woken up after a hibernation.
any idea if these (QPV) would have is ?

Last year, I undersealed the body and subframe at shiltech.
They gave the car a glowing report, with very little corrosion.
I want to do it again this year...may be overkill.
Any idea how where the access area is to get the sealant into the subframe cavity (both front and rear)?

yes. car starts loud and then stays quite.
therefore, it looks like its not a leak issue, but a solenoid or signal to solenoid issue.
I'll get a multimeter to the wire today and hopefully get a diagnosis

2011 QP V GTS : the issue started last year, the sport button function worked for the first 30 mins and thereafter when pressed it would allow the function of the revs and gear change but had no function on the exhaust valves which were either left open or closed.
