    3200 Issues after a Lay-Up

Thanks, All of the connections within my throttle body are good, but the TB doesn't cycle when the ignition is switched on. I think that I'll get another throttle body. If anyone has one, please let me know. My direct email is duncanRclarke@gmail.com. Dunncan

Car dead thread (away from covid thread lol)

It's not uncommon for batteries to go flat overnight in certain weather conditions. Usually on a cold damp night following a warm day. I think that a very fine mist forms on the battery and it conducts just enough to drain the battery after several hours.

    3200 Issues after a Lay-Up

Thanks once again. I discovered a small vacuum pipe, which is not connected at one end. Can any of you help me with where the loose end should be connected? I have attached a photo. I have blanked the pipe off, but it's made no difference. When the engine is running, it doesn't sound smooth...

    3200 Issues after a Lay-Up

Thanks for your advice. I've re-soldered the joints and they are now good - but the engine is still behaving exactly the same. Is it possible that the engine ECU is preventing the throttle signal from reaching the throttle body - and if so, what could be causing that and how do I overcome that...

    3200 Issues after a Lay-Up

Athough this a Magneti Marelli warranted part, with 'Warranty Void if Removed' security labels, it it a right hack inside. The connectors to the ring motor all ALL dry-jointed and came apart with only gentle pressure. I guess that the damp over the lay-up has finally rendered these joints open...

Thanks, mine doesn't do that. Perhaps it needs a tap with a hammer!

    3200 Issues after a Lay-Up

I've just tried that, but there's no difference in the way that the engine is behaving. The fault occurs with the throttle at rest and the 'CHECK ENGINE' light, which is cleared once the ingnition 'on' self test sequence has run its course, comes on within about 0.5 seconds of the engine...

    3200 Issues after a Lay-Up

At the throttle body: White 2.23 (not running), 2.04 (running) Green 2.75 (not running), 2.50 (running) Pressing the throttle fully makes no difference to these voltages. Duncan

Thank you The voltages at rest at the accelerator pedal are are yellow - 0.36V, white - 0.36V. Yellow wire reads 2.75V at full throttle.

    3200 Issues after a Lay-Up

Thanks for your help. All the connections look good and there is at least some response caused by the throttle pedal. But the throttle body flap refuses to move. I'll test the voltages later today and perform a throttle reset. Does anyone know where I can get a download of the 3200 wiring...

    3200 Issues after a Lay-Up

Thanks for your help The throttle flap returns quickly when opened manually, but it doesn't cycle when the ignition is turned on. I carried out a throttle reset procedure as detailed in another thread. The engine started easily and idled without hunting, but the throttle response is minimal...

    3200 Issues after a Lay-Up

Hi, My 3200 Automatic was running perfectly before I laid it up on my drive about 18 months ago with the battery disconnected. I set about starting her up today, by putting the battery on charge the afternoon before. I had the usual problems with getting the 'code' light to go out - but even...
