    3200 Oil Pressure Sender

The sender needs to be around 30mm in diameter for it to fit. It's in a very tight spot and the original sender is ca.28-30mm.

    I've bought a Cup

Thanks for this great info. I've wondered where to send the shocks when needed as I like the originality and original feel. Mine still works fine after 25 years and 80K km. Nice and dry too. But eventually they will need refurb. I bought a good used set a few years ago but when I got them they...

Throttle body balancing screw - QP 3.2 Evo

No other adjustment that I know of. There's the throttle plate rest position but other than that there is only this one screw. The picture I attached is for a part for sale online from a very low mileage car. Funny enough it has the same soot markings on the one throttle plate that mine has. One...

Throttle body balancing screw - QP 3.2 Evo

Hi all, Is there any logical way to adjust the balancing of the two throttle plates on the 3.2 throttle body ? These are calibrated at the factory and then the screw is sealed with a plastic plug. Not to be touched. Last mechanical problem I had with the car was when I had a high rpm/uneven...

    Torsional Vibration of Biturbo series

I have a -98 QP 3.2 Evoluzione and it has a conventional flywheel. In my case, with a more grippy clutch plate,I could benefit having a dual mass.

    Best wheel rims for a 228i ?

Either a 5-spoke or 7-spoke design will suit the car well. The later 424/430 wheels would be nice and elegant but these are 16" I think. A chunky 5-spoke like OZ Futura (or the copy Keskin KT1) would be the more agressive choice. Personally I don't think these cars suit multi spoke wheels and...

Air Condition control unit - ECU

Might be same warm-up program on QP4 but I'm not sure. Sounds plausible. I'm located on the west side - 5750 Odda. The current tally of Italians in this town are 5 Alfa's,approx.20 Fiat's,3 Maserati's,1 Lancia and 1 Ferrari. Easy to keep score in a tiny town ;)

Air Condition control unit - ECU

Hi Erik, It was a journey for sure. It was a trial of rights and wrongs - mostly wrongs ;)I ended up buying the official workshop manuals to get correct info. It became to difficult to solve the problem based on online advice and my own lack of understanding this engine. The WSM indeed pointed...

    3200 exhaust options

I've had Fox on my QP4 3.2 Evo for 7 years now. Quality and fit is good with a nice rumble and very enjoyable V8 sound. I have the rounded rectangular outlets which was the only option. On 3200GT you have the choice of both the rectangular version and original looking twin round outlet.

    Aircon ECU repair QP4

Hi, Yes,contact Gareth. I sent him my AC unit and it came back tried and tested. Mine went suddenly dead with no lights or function. The power supply went bad or overloaded and had to be changed along with an IC chip. The reason is for the most part the water valve in footwell which has an...

    3200 Oil Pressure Sender

I think you're right. The interesting part is that it can be calibrated. Would be great to know how as a the warning light is way to early and quick to lighten up.

    3200 Oil Pressure Sender

Here is what the WSM says about sender and instrument. Seems like low pressure warning can be calibrated/adjusted. Wonder how ? The resistance is also different between the sender unit and instrument gauge. And like Allan said warning light is rpm related.

    3200 Oil Pressure Sender

Fiat 46474606 for Punto/Coupe. These cars have a 3 bar max gauge so I suspect the sender is different. But how different ?

    3200 Oil Pressure Sender

Ok,so two wire connector is probably earth and signal. Low pressure warning has always been strange also. Just tips below 2.5 bar and warning lights up. Seems to be like this on other cars also so not just mine. I think it must relate to the mismatch between an 8 bar sender and a 5 bar gauge...

    3200 Oil Pressure Sender

Well, here we go again. I repaired my sender unit a couple of years ago and it has held up perfectly until this week. A slight flickering on the instrument needle tells me something is about to happen. Better start looking for a replacement sender. I tried ordering from Eurospares but it was NLA...
