    One on the right has just been blasted, left is vinyl paint, I tried a satin black too and that looked good, high gloss takes more time as you have to layer the lacquer or the vents get stuck

    Just to let you all know, I just refurbished my air vents and heater control dials, taking off all the sticky stuff, I have chosen to repaint mine in black vinyl paint, looks relatively age authentic, but I guess you could use any paint suitable for plastics. I use my soda blasting cabinet...
