    Maserati Specialist Recommendation

I spoke with Keys today and they declined, they want to work on Ferrari exclusively. Shame!

Great to know! I’m about 10mins away from Silverstone so very handy. Will reach out to them as my GT is due a service soon.

Custom LED Rear Lights - DIY Project

I find these reactions quite amusing. It’s amazing how flippant some people are about road safety, something my industry has worked so hard to improve. But fair enough, I won’t comment further. I just hope the ‘dozy s0d’ that runs into him doesn’t do too much damage.

Custom LED Rear Lights - DIY Project

It’s a shame you think that. If you don’t see the value in making sure the lights work when you most need them, then I suggest you unplug your rear lamps and see how long it takes for you to have an accident…. I’m not really sure who is making money in that case?

Custom LED Rear Lights - DIY Project

My main concern is only for safety. Lamps are there not just for styling, but to make sure you are seen. Making uncontrolled modifications, in my opinion, is a risk, not only to the driver but others around them. I would also question the insurance status of a modification like this. If the...

Custom LED Rear Lights - DIY Project

It’s clear that no one in the ‘real world’ understands anything about the work that is involved in a rear lamp. It takes about 3 years to develop a rear light. We just started a project to launch in Dec 2027. Around 20,000 man-hours, even a ‘standard’ lamp is full of engineering challenges. The...

Custom LED Rear Lights - DIY Project

Sorry to be a downer, but this frustrates me greatly. I work in automotive lighting. Millions went into the development of the original lamp, with specialist equipment to make sure it’s legal and safe. It’s not just about looks. Taking the aluminised coating off will almost certainly...

    Maserati NLA & Backorder Parts

That’s sadly not how it works in automotive. The OEM usually pays for tooling and specific development/application which means the specific product is theirs only indefinitely. There is an EU block exemption meaning that suppliers can sell to the aftermarket directly but they have to pay a...

    Gran Turismo S transmission knock

Thanks, I guess it’s hard to diagnose something like this over the internet. I’m going to get it looked at somewhere locally (unfortunately the nearest specialist is about 40mins away…) I’ll report back.

    Gran Turismo S transmission knock

Hi all, I was lucky enough to buy my first Maserati in September 2022. The car is a 2008 4.7S with MC Shift. I love the car, it’s excellent. However, I’ve come across an issue. When the car is moving above about 10mph, there is a knock from the rear of the car (possibly transmission related?)...
