Ya think they did that so they could charge more for each individual button. Who would have thought each button was different!
Many thanks Andy,I seem to remember they were subtly different.
I kept mine in order as they are placed on the radio unit. The other option is using a Sharpie pen and mark the inside button with a number or letter and draw a sketch of which button goes where with reference to that number or letter.
Only mark it on the side of the inside of the button otherwise it might affect the button illumination.
That makes sense in my head!
Do you just use water in the ultrasonic cleaner or something else?I’ve repaired some window switch plates on a GT today.
I removed them which was a bit of a mission but once off used IPA and a scotch pad to remove all the mess.
This leaves a very scuffed and hazy surface.
15 mins in the ultrasonic cleaner at 50 degrees, dry and panel wipe then I did 5 coats of Matt lacquer over the raw, hazy surface and they came up like new.
It takes a lot of time but the costs are cheap and the results amazing.
Hi AndyGreat effort Tony. Time consuming but satisfying. No more sticky black fingers!
That’s super. Many thanks and enjoy the holidayHi Paul,
No problem, currently on holiday so will contact you when I get back.
Andy.
We use a degreaser in bags.Do you just use water in the ultrasonic cleaner or something else?

Thanks AndyHi Paul,
Yes sorry, I sent you a PM yesterday. The envelope icon should have an alert next to it. If you open that message it tells you what to do.
Cheers,
Andy.
Thanks Paul, money received. I'll try and get them posted tomorrow.
Regarding the laquer I applied over the stickers, I used Autotek matt laquer. Although any matt automotive laquer should work.
As you've painted them black already, you won't get illumination at night. If you want that then I'd you follow this thread:

It should explain how to do that.
Cheers.

Hi AndyHi Andy
Super. Many thanks. I’m not precious about the buttons lighting at night as it is rarely used after dark so I think it should be fine and most certainly a huge improvement on the mess that the switches were when I bought the car.
Cheers. Paul
