Hi All.
As an update all the UK companies I have tried either won’t respond or can’t help due to parts being NLA for the Veglia Borletti odometer in the Testa…. After an initial positive enquiry with a couple of companies, no joy.
The Oldsmobile looks to be more promising with quite a few places confirming they can fix the odometer, so will be removing that soon and sending off for repair.
So I’ve decided to have a go myself (previously managed to repair a failed Tachometer on another classic Ferrari, replacing a failed IC) and fix the Veglia Borletti unit, information and parts seem very scarce on the internet unfortunately too….
I have taken lots of photos and documented steps so far via another Forum:
Hi All Another little job to do whilst I am replacing the leaking heater hoses on my 1986 Euro Testarossa, is to get the mid console mounted Odometer...

In summary it’s looking positive, bit more work to be done:-
- The plastic and metal gears are all in very good condition, greatest fear was that these were damaged and I would have to somehow reproduce them…. Old grease cleaned off and regreased now.
- The electric motor driven by pulses is working fine after I tested it, another major issue if it wasn’t working and no replacements available
- The distance rolling counters and mechanisms are also all in great condition
- Now the issue is pinpointed to the electronics side, that all mechanicals are fine. Much easier to sort....
Have spotted some dry solder joints and PCB tracks starting to fail, will look to repair and refurb those now. Also replace the Transistors and ICs, as most likely cause of failure being one of the ICs.
Some photos attached, but more on the other forum thread. Including parts list from a fellow friendly Australian.
Thought I would share on this forum too, as I’m sure in the future there will be some issues with gauges on these ageing Maseratis etc. Especially as both Maserati and Ferrari spare parts supply chains are poor in comparison to other marques.
