The last 4.2 that I saw advertised at £15k was the black one that looked like it had been used for target practice by the Royal Tank Regiment. It was also a Cat car I think. With no history and nobody knew it. That was a few to several months back. My memory isn't what it once was. It only used to be terrible.
I've only had a very quick glance at the black one in St Ives. However, for what its worth OP, if I were you, I'd be making my way down to wherever St Ives is, with £15k in my pocket. If you're not too bothered about resale value, I'd grab it with both hands, because I doubt that you'll ever again see such a sorted one of these for money like this.
In eighteen months of looking, before I bought mine, I never saw a deal like this. Providing the fixes left to do, only amount to hundreds, if that and even if you have to service the car for a few hundred more, so what. Its still a steal. And you can drive it like you stole it, because you haven't spent £25-£35k on a 4.7 GTXRi or whatever.
I doubt that you'll ever lose money with this car. Providing you treat it like all pretty girls expect to be treated.
As a gentleman would, except for in the bedroom when every girl enjoys being unable to walk, the morning after.
This is a motivated seller and the car is in Siberia. That's the magic combination that equals the deal of your life.
If you want to spice up the soundtrack a bit. Simply drop the resonator out of the exhaust and you have the sports mode sound in normal mode and something akin to a cat being dropped into boiling oil, in sports mode. Cost me £200 to get that done and a new steel section welded back in. Keep the resonator and this can be reversed.
Note: no small furries were harmed during the making or use of my exhaust.
Oh. The above is academic now, because the seller has withdrawn the car. Seems somebody made him an offer he couldn't refuse
