Needs to be cheap, that green 2004 car. Not only as it needs heaps of work (paintwork, leather work, major service work, anti-rust treatment, sticky button repairs, etc), but because even after all that you’ll be left with a car with very little service history and therefore always a depressed value. What a shame.
Even after all that work it would only be worth maybe £10k in the trade, so what’s it worth now at auction as a blind punt purchase, with no warranty or comeback? Given that the work will cost maybe £5-£10k depending on how far you go, the answer to the above is surely not-a-lot. Looks like the vendor is getting out of it at the right time and in the right way, as they’re bound to get more than it’s true value.
