I didn't know his christian name I just looked at the list previously posted and picked the one that sounded most familiar
It was Gudni Bergsson. He was at Tottenham in 1992
Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't he the recipient of the first recorded instance of the chant " You're sh*t and you know you are!"
What is the most searched word on google?
Excluding brand names and abbreviations like "****"
For a brief period it was brexit. Is it something as simple as "whats ?" Being the first word they type in the search field.
Nope but it does start with a W
Well, I also think we should be asking why "Sigurður Sigurðarson" is not called "Sigurðar Sigurðarson" or "Sigurður Sigurðurson".
Why ?
Making Boeing, Lockheed Martin and Bae Systems et al loads of money...
Because he didn't have the same name as his father. It's not rocket science
His name was Sigurður
His father's name was Sigurðar

Yes I understand how Icelandic names work, and I can see why you might think that. But a search for Sigurðurson in the Icelandic telephone directory gets no results, so presumably Sigurður is not a real Icelandic first name. I think there must be some grammatical change to the vowel going on, a bit like in German 'one apple, two apples' translates as 'ein Apfel, zwei Äpfel'
