My old banger's never ever given any problems in the last 3 years or so,and with lots of high speed thrashs down to southern europe
Its exactly the same as it came out of the factory 13 years ago..

It just turned over 25k at the weekend..it had 10k on the clock when I bought it.

Who said old 3200GT Masser's were unreliable!

Dave

Fair play Dave yours must be an exception as everyone I've ever spoken to and met have had their fair share of issues including me. I love it more and more because of it, I think if it was plain sailing I'd have sold long time ago.

other than the loose bolts on the gearbox at brunty my experience is similar to Dave's with no limp so far (tempting fate I know!)
occasionally see a CEL (usually goes out soon after coming on so I just think she is saying hello there every 20/30 turns or so ;)) but as the general advice is "if it is running ok don't worry about CELs too much" ............I don't worry:blushed:

I guess that proves what we already know; 3200 owners really are masochists!

Mine just went over 60k on the way home from Italy. It would have been under if we'd not been hooning around the passes and tunnel adding "unnecessary" mileage.

It's still worth what I paid for it all day long, probably a little more so who cares!

Mine threw a CEL the morning we left on trip, never reoccured on the 14 day 2850 mile trip. Our only issues were a leaking coolant hose, ( which we knew about but didn't have time to replace,) and a brake warning light that would blip on and off when we hit bumps in the road. Will probably light up like a xmas tree now, but don't care, she did good.

Great you can go that distance whilst things not absolutely perfect and they still don't let you down

Borderline low fluid, perhaps, mate?

I have had my 3200 6 years and 4 years ago had lots of cells, then had the car checked by McGraths , fitted new CT throttle body and new Lambda sensors and since no cells in the last 4 years and 12k miles. Car has an annual each year and is garaged.

Yes Dem, "Limp mode" , but just cleared, will just be an out of tolerance mismatch on starting.

Yes very limited performance. I think the worst I have had is limited to 3k rpm and that's annoying too!

So my GS has just a couple of k to go before it hits the big Five-0...should I store it for a few yeas now?...what is the likely hit once it turns a half century?

According to some you may as well weigh it in at the local scrap yard, Peter.

It's just as well I have no intention of selling my GS - she went over 55k miles on the Centenary trip. Doubt I could give her away now!!
