Good to know about more places round Edinburgh. Another one actually in town is David Philips Autos-he looked after my CC and was super helpful and knowledgeable. Porsches are probably half his business but substantial Ferrari / Maserati experience too.
+1. Outrun and others elsewhere suggested I go to David and he was excellent.

https://allitalia.business.site/ Independent Italian Specialist, Brymbo (Wrexham). Having struggled to find any garage (classic or otherwise) willing to touch the car in the N.East Wales area I was lucky to stumble across AllItalia on my doorstep. I think the nearest specialist to me would otherwise be HR Owen in Stockport. Howard and his team are very knowledgable and not unreasonably priced.

In safe hands with Howard. His place is hard to find if you haven't been there before.
Does he still have the 037 Stradale there still?

No 037 Stradale, although they were working on building a 3200 LS powered drift car in the back. Imagine that will be something to behold once complete.

Howard and his team always looked after my Fiats and Alfas. Good team, seem to recall a very steep slope down to the workshop. You also have Marios at Autoshield in Chorlton not too far away.

Yeah, fortunately the car is always turned around and parked in the drive when I've been to collect . Not sure how they manage anything low slung

Maybe his as he owned 2 32's when I last saw him. He also had a Montecarlo wasting away, apparently a customer who had thousands of pounds worth of work done on it then never came back to retrieve it and was no longer contactable!

Good to know that there are some specialists in Scotland, I'm in the Highlands so would be looking at Central Belt I think.

Well after I collected the car the seat was not in the position when i drove it to the garage, Seat motor was burnt out, so cross this garage off any list

That’s not good, I hope they take responsibility and sort it out for you.

Post hoc ergo propter hoc is the way! Or, more accurately, not, sadly

Maybe...maybe not. Will admit to one of my pet peeves being the car with seats and mirrors, etc. in a totally different position upon retrieval. Given the memory settings, it's not too much to ask to find things in the same position they were left when picking up the keys.

These things do fail. Because it failed around the time it was in their custody doesn’t mean they caused the failure, right?
At the time I put it down to perhaps a fuse,However it has turned out to be a real pain in the ***. I did manage to get the seat to a decent driving position, but still cant get to back bolts,Motor was also burnt out and I bought a new one, But really need to get seat out to repair properly

Lack of mechanic in striking distance in Highlands was why I got rid of the 4200. I had used Phil Kyle in Edinburgh but he seemed to pack in servicing and was doing car storage instead. Not sure if that has changed.

Yes, I've had mine for three years and has been routine maintenance at local garage in Dingwall - but now have an issue with the CC, need a new engagement potentiometer .... so looks like being trailered to Central Belt. Did you get anything interesting as an alternative to the 4200?
